Black was, Harrold knocking in goals against the girl guides was the worst thing that could happen as Tilson like yourself has fallen for it and mark my words won't admit he is wrong for weeks/months.

Harrold scored tap ins and penalties, Black went past people and cooly slotted past the keepers and showed that he is a good footballer. I sat with an impartial friend yesterday and he couldn't stop laughing in disbelief at the ginger goal threat!

I hope harrold proves us all wrong on here, especially me. I'd love any striker to step up and get us a few goals but really can't see harrold doing that. I think he will be getting 10 goals MAX this season.

If he does prove me wrong happy days and everyone remembers what southend lady promised. :p

It is no good hoping he proves us wrong, he won't, he aint very good and it is up to Tilson to realise he has signed yet another pile of crap!

Tilly is desperately working on signing a striker. Harrold deserved a chance wiggy. There is no point saying he only scores goals against pub teams when none of our other strikers did. I personally hoped we'd start the season with Paynter and Macdonald but Harrold and Hooper were scoring the goals in pre season and deserved a chance.

I agree, but what worries me is that Tilson hates to be proven wrong and he will persist with Harrold as he did Gutts and it will cost us dear!

Maybe wiggy, just maybe he will prove you wrong. This works both ways, if tilly can be proved wrong so can you, i hope you acknowledge that. It is harsh and unfair to criticise Harrold after one match of the new season.

Anyone here agree with the starting 11 today? Still as stubborn, i will play the useless Matt Harrold and i refuse to make a substitution before 8 mins from time. At least in the Championship you can admire the decent football played by the opposition, today they were both garbage. Orient were there for the taking, unfortunately our very overated manager prefers to play probably our weakest striker ever and leave the bloke that has pulling up trees pre season on the bench. That loss was down to you Mr. negative, bring on his blinkered supporters!

IMO if the club don't do something pretty quick we'll be on a downward spiral.
All that money for Freddy and NO replacement, not as if Tilson didn't have time to replace him either, speaks volumes in my book!!

Really don't want to be negative this early but apart from Harrold who is clearly not up to the job of scoring goals[ ACTUALLY THOUGHT HE DONE OK FOR THE 1ST 10 MINS] it is also the same old noncreative Maher led midfield. He was still putting in powder puff looping corners with no pace on them. Coupled with JCR wanting to beat everyone 3 times it all adds up to another non scoring team most weeks. Freddy Eastwood done it all himself, this mob will be bottom unless Tilson gets things moving, i won't hold mt breath!

There is bound to disappointment after defeat to Orient after all the hype and expectation that builds during the close season. The concerns raised on SZ show that we care about what happens to our team. Despite all our concerns re the need for a striker who can score 20 goals a season etc we must make sure that we don't get too carried away- we have lost one match! There is a long way to go. Let's judge the team over the first 4-6 weeks and see how things are going!
