The Business
Dont be me wrong I cant critise Scriv or anyone for the work they have done and I really think the site has come on leaps and bounds in the last few years however....

In the last few days we have had major concerns about what Tilly has/has not said and the termination of one of our star players contracts (Still not officially confirmed) and what does the official site run.........

A story on Simon Francis is enjoying his time at the Blues....

Great news for sure but I want to know what is going on with Tilly and Ricketts. At a time when we have reads nothing but speculation I really feel the official site should step up and put a few things straight.

If you listen to the interview with Tilly on Blues World, he confirms that Ron Martin did not allow him to speak to Norwich. He certainly implied that he wanted to speak to them. The phrase "whilst I'm still here" was used. This must have an unsettling impact on the players, new and old!

Yeah the way he was speaking I actually believe if he is allowed to talk to them he would go (if offered the job)

Sadly I also agree, I'm not convinced the camp is quite as happy and harmonious as some of us thought.

These are worrying times and if Tilly does stay I hope its because he wants to rather than because he feels he has to!

If Tilly went, and had a nightmare, say lost first 7 or 8 games he could be out of work by Xmas. He would then be a millionaire and he could take the southend job once he was sacked. So I'm wondering if the pound notes would be too tempting for our Steve. Mr Newman seems to be the Norwich go between, stiring things up

Did anyone else who listened to the interview think Tilly seemed a tad agitated? He did also comment that a couple of the players had made remarks about the speculation in training?

Maybe he's agitated because the speculation has now reached the players and therefore causing unrest in the camp, which he doesn't want with us currently in the relegation zone, and with a game coming up on friday.

Yes, Tilly is sending a very clear signal that he wants to leave. This will do nothing for our game tomorrow, whatever fine words are used, as per Barrett in the Echo.

With help from his friend Rob Newman in yesterday's Echo and the words he has used it is clear that he wants the Norwich job.

I understood, that he is Southend through and through. Apparently not, Ron should let him go now, as an unhappy manager with send us down for sure.

We might even get somebody with extensive knowledge of the higher divisions. Which is not the case with Steve.

If he goes and Norwich do not shine in the division, after about 6 months he might well get the fatal vote of confidence from the Cook and be sacked at short notice.

This might be after giving Newman a job and signing Eastwood. When suddenly a move by him to a championship team will not be a sideways move !

Just because he wants to go to a club with a bigger budget a higher prospects and a rather easy going board - Doesn't mean he doesn't love southend.

I mean you could love working at Tesco but then get a better offer from Sainsburys and it means more money(for your family) more likely to make it into the big time. Sorry for using supermarkets as an example - but someone posted something about the Co-op and it has stayed with me.

No one want the Norwich job, that tell you the story expect Tilson

That guy, Lee Perry in Echo letter got it spot on, Tilson should go to Norwich for a talk as longer we hang on to Tilson, more it unsettle the squad.

I reckon Newman is the one who bugging Tilson to quit Southend and make him go to Norwich. If we go to last 4 game with Southend 4th from bottom & Norwich is 3rd from bottom with Tilson in charge of the budgie, I really wanted Tilson to fail!

A supermarket job don't have 9'500 fans watching you can it? it not the same as football innt!?

I dont blame him for going to Norwich if it happens but in the meantime we are in limbo.

He either doesnt want to go (so say so), or he does. Seems like he does. If thats the case we keep him knowing he actually wants to leave earlier than he does, he talks to Norwich and doesnt get the job and we keep him knowing he wanted to be elsewhere, or he leaves.

He has done a great job here and I dont begrudge him wanting to better himself but if he is thinking of other clubs now I dont see what point there is in him leaving.

- No i know but you can't say his not Southend through and through. Just because he wants a job with more prospects(if that is the case).

By all means i wish Tilly don't leave as i think his done fantastic over the past 2 yrs or so at Southend and i believe his still got unfinished business here. If he did go though i wouldn't think any less of him becausein my eyes he is a legend.

He seemed ****ed off to say the least that he couldn't talk to Norwich. If you want to go Tilly, go.

I have gone full circle on this one.

I backed RM stance that we dont want to lose Tilly but Tilly has had it clear he isnt happy and t be honest legend or not if you dont want to be at Southend then go and let someone come in that does want to be here.

With all due respects most reports I read seem to say he is about third choice up there anyway.

I am forever grateful to the man but if you aint feeling it any more than go and we can all stop dragging this on.

No-one is bigger than the club and if Tillys goes so be it. We can bring in someone who is hungry for it.

DtS

I havent made a comment on this yet but I do feel if Tilson wants out them let him go. I dont want anybody at this club who doesnt want to be here and to be honest, my respect and admiration for Tilson has gone downhill with all this.
