OD - Week 8

BILLERICAY BLUE

Rose Tinted Brigade Member⭐⭐🦐
I'm at home to 4th today (I'm 2nd). Full-strength side out but some PFL probs, notably Evelyn (down to Fresh after 2 tons in the FC game). Good toss to win, hopefully we can knock them over for not a lot, although they have an England U19 opening the batting.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Westons Whackers

We can tell you that BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB (3rd) at home to 5th, again at full-strength, and apart from "Harry" Potter at Lively, she's pretty much OK PFL wise.

DIBS DIPPERS v Welsh Wizards

We can tell you that Welsh Wizards won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

They've thrown the game luckily

End of Over 4: 7-1, runrate=1.75
Lake 2-0-3-1
Egon* 4 (7 balls)
Human 0 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Owen b. Lake 1 (FOW: 4/1)

Home to 2nd.

Welcome to The Garrison for the match between Southend and Aquantra CC.

We can tell you that Southend won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a bit on the dry side. A fair bit of help for the spinners I think on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 7: 15-0, runrate=2.14
Sipho 4-0-12-0
Byron* 11 (25 balls)
Lovegrove 4 (17 balls)

away to 4th, decent side, but I'm GFIing it for morale and some points on the board

And it's a decent start as well, with Neeky getting 4-10
End of Over 15: 58-4, runrate=3.87
Mirza 3-0-12-0
Allan* 21 (30 balls)
Lloyd 6 (18 balls)

Last Wicket: Donnelly c. Witchell b. van Niekerk 12 (FOW: 41/4)

At last

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 28: 70-10, runrate=2.50
Hulse 3-1-7-3
Barton* 2 (7 balls)

27.1 W Hulse to Pembridge
Vicious inswing has seen the stumps rearranged.

rather annoying

End of Over 32: 133-6, runrate=4.16
Witchell 6-0-31-1
Allan* 59 (78 balls)
Matheson 14 (19 balls)

Last Wicket: Akona c. Perry b. Whittingham 12 (FOW: 100/6)

Well its not gone great today. They were 181-1 after 36 overs but finally took some wickets and they are now 217-7 and given me half a chance. I'd won the toss and elected to bowl first. Partially cloudy and windy - conditions which i didn't ball well in on Tuesday, so not entirely confident!

Aussie style collapses in both games involving the BB household

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Westons Whackers

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 42: 180-8, runrate=4.29
Glasby 6-0-22-2
Bangara* 1 (9 balls)
Lakeman 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Wilson c. Schoeman b. Singh 6 (FOW: 179/8)

Considering they were 133-1 in the 30th over we've done well. Don't want to be chasing much over 200 due to Evelyn's lack of PFL.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIBS DIPPERS v Welsh Wizards

Welsh Wizards won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 42: 207-6, runrate=4.93
Vernon 6-1-18-2
Bird* 3 (3 balls)
Sipho 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Murdoch b. Vernon 1 (FOW: 207/6)

Mrs BB was 198-1 at one stage....

9 wkt win against 3rd place just about guarantees 2nd. All about next week now. A win and it is a NRR race to the end of the season

We got no hope here.

End of Over 1: 4-0, runrate=4.00, reqrunrate=5.08 (252-2)
Dickinson 1-0-4-0
Tsietsi* 3 (3 balls)
Healy 1 (3 balls)

Unsurprisingly getting tonked. Despite no cup game our fitness was shot after 3 days of FC and we've paid the price so will be back in the play off places.

End of Over 20: 55-5, runrate=2.75, reqrunrate=5.23 (211-9)
Phelan 5-1-10-2
Sinethemba* 14 (21 balls)
Plummer 0 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Marriott c. Ingham b. Phelan 6 (FOW: 55/5)

End of Over 23: 140-0, runrate=6.09, reqrunrate=3.56 (235-8)
Bridges 2-0-9-0
Jefferson* 83 (73 balls)
Allan 53 (68 balls)

shopuld be an easy win

End of Over 26: 113-0, runrate=4.35, reqrunrate=5.83 (252-2)
Melia 3-1-4-0
Healy* 68 (78 balls)
Tsietsi 44 (79 balls)

Solid, but we're slowing down massively in the past few overs.

End of Over 28: 167-1, runrate=5.96, reqrunrate=3.14 (235-8)
Barnett 9-1-39-1
Jefferson* 109 (92 balls)
Shah 1 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Allan c. Gulzar b. Barnett 53 (FOW: 145/1)

Looking like a good win

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Westons Whackers

Lakeman 8-1-28-1
Pollock* 82 (90 balls)
Nagendranath 33 (46 balls)

Last Wicket: Middleton lbw b. Wilson 13 (FOW: 90/3)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One more wicket will probably win this for Mrs BB.

DIBS DIPPERS v Welsh Wizards

Welsh Wizards won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 32: 144-4, runrate=4.50, reqrunrate=5.39 (240-10)
York 6-1-16-1
Boyd* 20 (30 balls)
Flood 34 (40 balls)

Last Wicket: Petrus c. Murdoch b. Eagles 24 (FOW: 99/4)

End of Over 34: 143-1, runrate=4.21, reqrunrate=6.88 (252-2)
Burton 7-0-34-0
Davenport* 10 (16 balls)
Tsietsi 59 (103 balls)
Last Wicket: Healy b. Melia 73 (FOW: 118/1)

Leaving ourselves far too much to do here.

Expected 110 run defeat, at least we made three figures. Will now prioritise FC for the remainder of the season and settle for ma play off place in OD.

ShrimperZone CC Fingers XI
Top Order: masterful exquisite
Middle Order: exceptional exquisite
Lower Order: feeble mediocre
Seam Bowling: elite phenomenal
Spin Bowling: elite sensational
Fielding: respectable respectable

The pacing of my innings is all wrong. What's with the match engine? We've scored 43 in the last 15 overs, and now need 105 from the next 14.

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 8 wickets.
islands 1st xi 235-8
Napster's XI 238-2

End of Over 41: 238-2, runrate=5.80
Benjamin 5-0-54-0
Jefferson* 143 (129 balls)
9 (5 balls)
