OD Week 6

Bit of a run chase coming up:

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 50: 425-1, runrate=8.50
Stoner 10-0-79-0
Peyton* 89 (54 balls)
Murdoch 182 (139 balls)

Last Wicket: Boyle b. Eksteen 152 (FOW: 265/1)

Lol, good luck Shags!!

Great partnership to round off an excellent innings. It's a sunny day but I have to fancy us to defend this, especially as none of the all rounders had to bat.

End of Over 50: 299-3, runrate=5.98
Aulak 10-0-78-0
Sandile* 58 (62 balls)
Lamey 111 (99 balls)
Last Wicket: Mcleod Run Out 32 (FOW: 173/3)

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 10 wickets.
JPs Sloggers 107-10
Napster's XI 108-0

End of Over 20: 108-0, runrate=5.40
Mcinerney 4-0-15-0
Allan* 52 (66 balls)
Jefferson 50 (49 balls)

19.1 2 Mcinerney to Jefferson
Poor ball, and Jefferson smacks it towards the boundary - but wait, Davidson comes sprinting across and makes a great stop. Mcinerney owes him a drink afterwards for that one...
And that's his fifty! Well played.

Conceding 300 runs against your lot?! They must have got worse ...

Although TBH, they chased down 300+ total's at least 2/3 times last season as they always seemed to concede alot and then go and suprise everyone by chasing it down!

Kev

Well they haven't made a great start to the run chase!

End of Over 1: 0-0, runrate=0.00, reqrunrate=6.12 (299-3)
Sutherland 1-1-0-0
Noble* 0 (0 balls)
Gaskin 0 (6 balls)

Im only warning you ;) Dont want you to get too over confident!!! :p

I see BB is in hiding in anticipation of today's big match, although he'll probably claim he's on holiday or something......

Welcome to Sir Steve Tilson Arena for the match between BATTY SHRIMPERS and Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI.

We can tell you that Geoff_Boycotts_Grandmother XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

5.4 . Singh to Holt
Ouch! That last ball has trapped Holt's fingers against the bat handle. He's now calling for the physio to bring down the cold spray. It looks like he will be fit enough to carry on though.
5.3 . Singh to Holt
A loud 'No' from Holt rings round the ground, as that shot trickles out to cover.
5.2 6 Singh to Holt
Cover those windows and lock up your daughters, Holt is on the attack.
5.1 4 Singh to Holt
Nice shot, they'll get three here... oh, terrible throw to Evelyn and they'll run an extra one.

End of Over 5: 20-1, runrate=4.00, reqrunrate=4.29 (212-10)
Asher 3-0-18-0
Holt* 13 (17 balls)
Pembridge 4 (6 balls)
Last Wicket: Griffith b. Singh 2 (FOW: 14/1)

Should be an interesting chase.

best ratings ever, and on a PAN

Reporter's Summary JPs Sloggers Napster's XI
Top Order: respectable exceptional
Middle Order: competent respectable
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: respectable superb
Spin Bowling: respectable exquisite
Fielding: feeble feeble

MOTM: Allan

End of Over 20: 67-2, runrate=3.35, reqrunrate=3.27 (164-10)
Owen 3-1-10-0
Waterhouse* 35 (48 balls)
Browne 1 (12 balls)

Last Wicket: Sookram Run Out 23 (FOW: 60/2)

9 wicket win for me including 7 wkts for 8 for Blinkhorn - keeps me nicely ahead by 4pts - have one eye on NRR of second place - need to make sure there's enough daylight so I could afford to lose the return match #9. Currently 18 vs 15

No wickets but they're behind the run rate, hopefully Mario can put in his usual economic spell as we have invigorated Graham waiting in the wings to be tonked about.

End of Over 15: 78-0, runrate=5.20, reqrunrate=6.34 (299-3)
Marriott 1-0-2-0
Noble* 38 (43 balls)
Gaskin 36 (47 balls)

Some tight bowling from BB's bowlers means that I'm now behind the run-rate

End of Over 17: 66-1, runrate=3.88, reqrunrate=4.45 (212-10)
Brooker 2-0-6-0
Holt* 36 (52 balls)
Pembridge 27 (43 balls)

Didn't quite make it

End of Over 5: 8-9, runrate=1.60, reqrunrate=9.29 (425-1)
Locke 3-2-6-5
Mapira* 0 (0 balls)
Mclaren 0 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Stoner b. Locke 0 (FOW: 8/9)

5.1 . James to Mapira
A jaffa from James. I don't think that anyone could have laid a bat on that one.
5.2 6 James to Mapira
Short ball is picked up just over the rope at deep backward square.
5.3 W James to Mapira
James has got that to straighten down the line and take the edge. First slip takes a good catch just inches off the ground. Mapira is standing his ground but the umpire says get on your bike buddy.

First over from Graham not too bad and the RRR is drifting.

End of Over 22: 106-0, runrate=4.82, reqrunrate=6.93 (299-3)
Graham 1-0-4-0
Gaskin* 45 (64 balls)
Noble 56 (68 balls)

Spoke too soon, 20 runs from two overs, yuck.

End of Over 24: 126-0, runrate=5.25, reqrunrate=6.69 (299-3)
Graham 2-0-15-0
Gaskin* 57 (71 balls)
Noble 64 (73 balls)

Still tightly poised at the Sir Steve Tilson arena.

Holt has fallen, but that brings to the crease a faster scoring batsman.

End of Over 26: 110-3, runrate=4.23, reqrunrate=4.29 (212-10)
Schoeman 3-0-16-1
Montgomery* 16 (20 balls)
Finnan 4 (5 balls)
Last Wicket: Holt lbw b. Schoeman 56 (FOW: 98/3)

Another wicket and BB becomes clear favourite.

Struggling here, Mario hasn't put in the cheap spell I'd hoped for and the RRR is still fairly comfy for them with 10 wickets in hand and Graham still to bowl 5 more overs.

End of Over 31: 169-0, runrate=5.45, reqrunrate=6.89 (299-3)
Marriott 9-0-44-0
Gaskin* 86 (98 balls)
Noble 75 (89 balls)

Mario sticks in a maiden in his last to swing things back a little.

End of Over 33: 172-0, runrate=5.21, reqrunrate=7.53 (299-3)
Marriott 10-1-44-0
Noble* 76 (90 balls)
Gaskin 88 (109 balls)

GET IN!!

Wicket and a single run from Big Phil's over and we're in business.

End of Over 34: 173-1, runrate=5.09, reqrunrate=7.94 (299-3)
Schofield 7-0-30-1
Noble* 77 (94 balls)
Beer 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Gaskin c. Plummer b. Schofield 88 (FOW: 173/1)

33.6 W Schofield to Gaskin
Great catch! Gaskin drove firmly but short extra cover took a blinding catch just millimetres from the ground. We may be seeing replays of that catch for some time.

I did say these boys could bat!!

I win by 7 wickets. Waterhouse's 77 saw my through the innings with contributions from Browne & Sookram. EVG look set to lose so it should be me & Bobby top of the table come 5.30pm this evening!
