OD Week 6

Grayson

Life President⭐🦐
Southend v Bulldogs CC (4333768)
Welcome to The Garrison for the match between Southend and Bulldogs CC.

We can tell you that Bulldogs CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

0.2 W Brookes to Hazel
Beautiful! That ball has turned just enough to beat the bat and clip the stumps. Hazel shakes his head but unfortunately he just got out to a very good ball.
0.1 . Brookes to Hazel
Fullish ball angling in on off stump, clipped off the legs straight to midwicket.

Yuck.

End of Over 3: 7-2, runrate=2.33
Lekgwathi 2-0-5-2
Wright* 5 (7 balls)
Joost 0 (1 balls)
Last Wicket: Hoult b. Lekgwathi 2 (FOW: 7/2)

Playing the much vaunted Mad Badgers, though if Kev can beat them they can't be that great. We're in to bat and have made a pretty impressive start!

We can tell you that Mad Badgers won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

End of Over 4: 37-0, runrate=9.25
Dumas 2-0-23-0
Cunningham* 16 (13 balls)
Sinethemba 21 (11 balls)

End of Over 4: 8-4, runrate=2.00
Swan 2-0-3-2
Wright* 6 (8 balls)
Gichki 0 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Hulse c. Stephens b. Swan 0 (FOW: 8/4)

End of Over 4: 10-2, runrate=2.50
Hastings 2-0-4-1
Healy* 3 (9 balls)
Tsietsi 6 (8 balls)
Last Wicket: Davenport c. Antrobus b. Hastings 0 (FOW: 1/2)

Horrible toss to lose, granted, but getting spun out under the perfect seam conditions isn't good.

Seems both their opening bowlers are on lively fitness, hence why we're making so much hay.

Bloody hell Toddy, assumed you must be playing Parkway or Finger, not the Farmers!

I've thrown my game today against the league leaders. I have a very important OD game next week against one of the teams below me (i'm currently 5th), so am building up fitness levels for that. I also have a toughish FC game so basically I have my stiffs playing today - I don't know whether I should log on to witness the carnage!

Lost Richie but a great opening partnership and we're still ticking along at a decent rate.

End of Over 15: 99-1, runrate=6.60
Neill 1-0-6-0
Lamey* 4 (7 balls)
Sinethemba 48 (42 balls)
Last Wicket: Cunningham b. Dumas 44 (FOW: 92/1)

Everyone on invigorated and up. Need to win to maintain 100% record. Should be easy enough

Welcome to JPs Sloggers CG for the match between JPs Sloggers and Napster's XI.

We can tell you that Napster's XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a little uneven. Should be tough for the batsmen on this sunny day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 16: 52-4, runrate=3.25
Mccafferty 3-0-11-2
George* 12 (32 balls)
Poole 8 (11 balls)

Last Wicket: Norris b. Mccafferty 2 (FOW: 42/4)

Ok, not so good.

End of Over 16: 103-2, runrate=6.44
Maloney 1-0-4-1
Mcleod* 1 (2 balls)
Lamey 7 (9 balls)
Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Grant b. Maloney 48 (FOW: 102/2)

End of Over 18: 52-8, runrate=2.89
Stephens 4-2-4-1
Coyne* 7 (21 balls)
Lake 0 (7 balls)
Last Wicket: Walker lbw b. Cameron 1 (FOW: 51/8)

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 22: 62-10, runrate=2.82
Swan 5-0-23-3
Cahill* 1 (9 balls)

21.2 W Swan to Lake
Lake comes down the track and misses the ball compeletly. Drury whips the bails off in an instant and is immediately in celebration mode.
21.1 lb4 Swan to Lake
He plays and misses but the ball nicks the pad, evades Drury, and goes for four leg byes.

A lively quality bowler has dismissed Granville and Rennie in two balls. I hope I get this sort of luck when bowling, as they have nothing below the top 3.

Not a good first 2 hours!

Got this guy (in at 3) for 13 (averaging 130)...

Ciaran Chotai (1567287) Ciaran is a RH Batsman and RF Bowler. He is a steady player with worthless leadership skills and superb experience.
He currently has superb batting form, mediocre bowling form and energetic fitness.
Battrick Rating: 59,716
Wages: £31,128 p/w

... but it took me 80 balls (average of 30) to remove this and this was mainly against Waters ...

Miles Tracey (970254) Miles is a RH Batsman and LFM Bowler. He is a steady player with mediocre leadership skills and exceptional experience.
He currently has respectable batting form, woeful bowling form and sublime fitness.
Battrick Rating: 37,997
Wages: £20,913 p/w

After all has been said and done, they are:

End of Over 31: 131-3, runrate=4.23
Johnson 9-0-40-1
Osman* 17 (30 balls)
Grahame 6 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Tracey c. Bayliss b. Johnson 58 (FOW: 117/3)

Positive: Its a batting pitch.
Negative: Its bowler friendly conditions.

Summary: Not really sure where i stand. I guess anything under 225 would be ideal but hoping we can get into the tail soon and they can collapse to sub 200 as there tail is from 8 downwards!

These guys aren't great but always seem to do okay and they are one of the 4 teams (along with me) who have all won 4 out of their 5 games this season.

Kev

cruising to a nice win

End of Over 12: 76-0, runrate=6.33, reqrunrate=0.84 (107-10)
Mcinerney 1-0-3-0
Allan* 42 (37 balls)
Jefferson 28 (35 balls)
