OD - Week 5

MrB

Life President
GFI, unfit and Sini goes first ball, could be a disaster.

Welcome to Garon Park for the match between ShrimperZone CC and Eppleton CC.

We can tell you that Eppleton CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this sunny day.

End of Over 2: 11-1, runrate=5.50
Kelly 1-0-8-0
Cunningham* 1 (2 balls)
Lamey 10 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Mills b. Tucker 0 (FOW: 0/1)

Only 8 players fit, PAN against 2nd from bottom, could be tight

Ok start

Welcome to The Dusty Bowl for the match between Napster's XI and Vishal flying fishes.

We can tell you that Napster's XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking a little uneven. Should be tough for the batsmen on this sunny day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 3: 6-0, runrate=2.00
Allan 2-0-4-0
Gustav* 3 (9 balls)
Lamare 3 (9 balls)

PIN at home to the bottom team who have yet to win but had an easy win this week in the FC whereas i had a bit of a slog. Raven and Deane @ lively, Cook @ invigorated and rest at energetic or sublime but as its BT20 next week, everyone plays. Batter friendly pitch and batter friendly weather so i'll be happy to chase down anything less than 230ish.

End of Over 7: 22-0, runrate=3.14
Johnson 4-0-17-0
Goddard* 11 (17 balls)
Dudgeon 11 (25 balls)

Improved from the bad start, Lamo looking in good nick.

End of Over 10: 54-1, runrate=5.40
Kelly 5-0-24-0
Cunningham* 19 (29 balls)
Lamey 34 (30 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c. Mills b. Tucker 0 (FOW: 0/1)

Dammit.

End of Over 11: 65-2, runrate=5.91
Tucker 6-0-41-2
Cunningham* 22 (32 balls)
Mcleod 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey c. Mills b. Tucker 42 (FOW: 65/2)

10.6 W Tucker to Lamey
Mills could join a circus with acrobatics like that. A mid air take, low to his left. How he clung onto that one I will never know. Lamey forced to depart.
10.5 4 Tucker to Lamey
An all-run four. Not every day you see that. Not great fielding from Stubbs but good running from the batsmen.
10.4 4 Tucker to Lamey
Worked off of his toes towards Biggins at square leg, who trips over his own feet in his enthusiasm and watches forlornly as it goes past him for four. 'Great fielding Monty' shouts a wag from the crowd.

Away to the bottom of the league, who has basically given up and is just concentrating on producing U19's I believe. Rested a few, and we're on a TIE.

Chelmsford Rangers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Flat

End of Over 11: 44-4, runrate=4.00
Warnock 1-0-5-0
Gillespie* 31 (31 balls)
Sutton 0 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Mercer b. Schoeman 2 (FOW: 39/4)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB at home to the side in 3rd, all bar Eagles and Morgan at Sublime, and as the oppo has some PFL probs, she's only on a PAN

DIBS DIPPERS v The only way is Up

The only way is Up won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 11: 51-2, runrate=4.64
Ellis 6-0-28-1
Hutton* 21 (27 balls)
Eagles 1 (4 balls)

Last Wicket: Potter c. Beevers b. Ellis 27 (FOW: 43/2)

Taking advantage of the sunny weather and ticking along quite nicely at the moment.

End of Over 17: 99-2, runrate=5.82
Biggins 2-0-12-0
Cunningham* 45 (54 balls)
Mcleod 11 (14 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey c. Mills b. Tucker 42 (FOW: 65/2)

End of Over 19: 88-0, runrate=4.63
Rautenbach 3-0-11-0
Lovegrove* 47 (65 balls)
Byron 40 (50 balls)

Away to the only other side with a 100% record, and it's not going too well. The all-rounders for me aren't too fit.

Going much better than expected, looks like they've rested a bowler as Biggins is 'only' superb or quality and we're taking advantage (though of course we have our own superb in the line up as well and Mario is only on lively).

End of Over 23: 146-2, runrate=6.35
Biggins 5-0-36-0
Cunningham* 74 (73 balls)
Mcleod 27 (31 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey c. Mills b. Tucker 42 (FOW: 65/2)

we're keeping things tight. but not happy we havent taken more wickets

End of Over 24: 114-1, runrate=4.75
Atherton 7-2-34-0
Furse* 24 (36 balls)
Lamare 59 (73 balls)

Last Wicket: Gustav c. Perry b. van Niekerk 26 (FOW: 62/1)

Richie goes after a good knock, given us a great base to work from if these two can stay together for a while. If I was their manager I'd be a bit upset at how easily Macca (remarkable) is taking apart Lawrenson (£58k pw bowler!).

End of Over 30: 197-3, runrate=6.57
Lawrenson 5-0-37-1
Sandile* 2 (2 balls)
Mcleod 64 (55 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham st. Mills b. Lawrenson 86 (FOW: 188/3)

We're going to win as expected.

Chelmsford Rangers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Flat

End of Over 2: 7-0, runrate=3.50, reqrunrate=2.17 (110-10)
Talia 1-0-4-0
Ricketts* 5 (11 balls)
Brush 1 (2 balls)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB in a spot of bother.

DIBS DIPPERS v The only way is Up

The only way is Up won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 4: 9-1, runrate=2.25, reqrunrate=2.46 (121-10)
Mohammed 2-0-7-0
Beevers* 6 (15 balls)
Goddard 2 (8 balls)

Last Wicket: Poole c. Stride b. Eagles 0 (FOW: 0/1)

Slowed down but we have plenty of wickets in hand going into the last 10 so can hopefully rack up a decent total.

End of Over 39: 226-3, runrate=5.79
Lawrenson 8-1-44-1
Mcleod* 77 (83 balls)
Sandile 17 (29 balls)

Last Wicket: Cunningham st. Mills b. Lawrenson 86 (FOW: 188/3)

Good old Neeky

End of Over 39: 182-5, runrate=4.67
van Niekerk 10-1-19-4
Mellor* 8 (9 balls)
Probert 1 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Featherstone c. Storer b. van Niekerk 5 (FOW: 173/5)

Restricted them nicely in the end:

End of Over 50: 253-3, runrate=5.06
Sipho 10-0-45-2
Paster* 9 (9 balls)
Mayers 6 (3 balls)
Last Wicket: Tucker b. Sipho 5 (FOW: 245/3)

All done and dusted without too much pain

Chelmsford Rangers v BATTY SHRIMPERS

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Flat
And that's the end of the match. BATTY SHRIMPERS won by 10 wickets.
Chelmsford Rangers 110-10
BATTY SHRIMPERS 111-0

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it's fair to say that Mrs BB needs wickets, and fast

DIBS DIPPERS v The only way is Up

The only way is Up won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 19: 67-2, runrate=3.53, reqrunrate=1.77 (121-10)
Sipho 5-0-21-0
Goddard* 28 (57 balls)
Beswetherick 21 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Beevers c. Stride b. Mohammed 16 (FOW: 28/2)

End of Over 2: 14-0, runrate=7.00, reqrunrate=5.08 (257-9)
Gatoor 1-0-11-0
Allan* 8 (8 balls)
Perry 6 (4 balls)

Well my "im happy to chase anything under 230" was one i'll be sticking with!

End of Over 13: 62-0, runrate=4.77, reqrunrate=4.35 (222-10)
Os 7-1-43-0
Sookram* 41 (33 balls)
Waterhouse 21 (45 balls)

Waters took 7 wickets (6 of which came in the last ten overs!) as they collapsed from 177-2 to 222 all out in the space of 8 overs!

Happy days

Kev

Our best total in a while (in a competitive game) and good deep batting with the 7th wicket adding a brisk 50 at the end. No wickets but the run rate is up to 7 already. Much will depend on how Mario performs on lively fitness and whether Graham gets punished as the weak link. 7 off Mario's first over does not bode well.

End of Over 15: 71-0, runrate=4.73, reqrunrate=7.03 (316-6)
Marriott 1-0-7-0
Mills* 41 (40 balls)
Lewington 30 (50 balls)

Debutant Sagren, a WI 10,000 BTR strong batsman takes to the crease

End of Over 18: 119-1, runrate=6.61, reqrunrate=4.34 (257-9)
Mpilo 4-0-18-1
Sagren* 5 (8 balls)
Perry 55 (53 balls)

Last Wicket: Allan c. Mcgowan b. Mpilo 53 (FOW: 105/1)
