OD - Week 2

Well that didn't go to plan....

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Lampys Lightning

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 50: 264-6, runrate=5.28
Singh 10-0-58-2
Burton* 23 (25 balls)
Livermore 32 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Bradford c. Evelyn b. Schoeman 7 (FOW: 218/6)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it's safe to say that Mrs BB is going to lose this one...

DIBS DIPPERS v wakatipu

wakatipu won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 2: 13-0, runrate=6.50, reqrunrate=3.33 (172-10)
Mohammed 1-0-5-0
Lampard* 8 (6 balls)
Whitehouse 4 (6 balls)

Going to need some kind of miracle here, i reckon! My batsmen never produce when they are set to attacking (or defending in other cases) so think i will leave it to normal all the time. Considering i was 43/3 (losing Deane, Waterhouse and Browne) and then lost Sookram at 74, we didn't recover too badly but this total looks well, well short!

End of Over 50: 211-8, runrate=4.22
Keen 10-3-23-2
Johnson* 17 (21 balls)
Cavanagh 26 (22 balls)

Last Wicket: Waters b. Keen 0 (FOW: 174/8)

Anyone noticed on the archived fixture pages it gives you a tally for your seasons results:

Season 15:
Played: 5 | Won: 4 (80.0%) | Lost: 1 (20.0%) | Drawn: 0 (0.0%) | Tie: 0 (0.0%)

stumbled to 22/3 after bowling them out for 86, but Horsfield and Barnes steered us home to win by 7 wickets.

Colts ettefershire CCC
Top Order: exceptional quality
Middle Order: strong remarkable
Lower Order: abysmal abysmal
Seam Bowling: sensational exceptional
Spin Bowling: elite sensational
Fielding: competent woeful

They threw the game and we got them out for 65 and made the runs in 10 overs.

Southend United won the toss and elected to field.
Reporter's Summary
Legendary Knights Southend United
Top Order: proficient sensational
Middle Order: mediocre remarkable
Lower Order: abysmal worthless
Seam Bowling: competent miraculous
Spin Bowling: feeble useless
Fielding: feeble respectable
MOTM: Cahill

Given that Bond and Tate went for 156 runs between them (though took a wicket each!) it's still an achievable score. Alas both Richie and Sini go in successive overs and I can see us slowing right down now.

End of Over 14: 76-2, runrate=5.43, reqrunrate=6.17 (297-3)
Dillon 3-0-21-1
Mcleod* 5 (2 balls)
Lamey 1 (2 balls)

Last Wicket: Sinethemba c & b. Dillon 35 (FOW: 71/2)

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 10 wickets.
Blue Foxes 179-10
Napster's XI 180-0

End of Over 26: 180-0, runrate=6.92
Makkin Salih 7-0-49-0
Perry* 75 (68 balls)
Jefferson 104 (85 balls)

Run rate drifting up as expected and another wicket down.

End of Over 26: 130-3, runrate=5.00, reqrunrate=7.00 (297-3)
Dillon 5-0-29-2
Lamey* 24 (43 balls)
Sandile 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcleod c. Tucker b. Dillon 32 (FOW: 130/3)

Getting spanked. Hmmmm this isn't good if i actually want promotion this season! :(

End of Over 31: 189-0, runrate=6.10, reqrunrate=1.21 (211-8)
Johnson 9-0-52-0
Heggett* 97 (96 balls)
Blom 89 (91 balls)

Hahaha.

Just bought a new batting trainee, who gets 2 nets

Dirk is a LH Batsman and LFM Bowler. He is a steady player with mediocre leadership skills and worthless experience.

He currently has respectable batting form, mediocre bowling form and lively fitness.

Plays For: Napster's XI
Nationality: Australia
Age: 17 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 8,033 (-255)
Wages: £1,305 p/w

Stamina: respectable Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: respectable Concentration: mediocre
Bowling: respectable Consistency: worthless
Fielding: worthless

Im guessing at that wage he's a high respectable.

Dropping a few players for PFL, playing a side ranked well below me, so PAN and hopefully should be an easy win.

Just had the Aussie under-19 manager on my case asking how many nets I'm going to him.

Tough but just gettable, with these 2 in and Pollock still to come.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Lampys Lightning

Woods 8-0-27-1
Evelyn* 11 (26 balls)
Lindop 56 (61 balls)

Last Wicket: Schoeman b. Peters 23 (FOW: 112/5)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mrs BB just about to complete her crushing defeat.

DIBS DIPPERS v wakatipu

wakatipu won the toss and elected to field.
Pitch: Green

End of Over 41: 167-1, runrate=4.07, reqrunrate=0.67 (172-10)
Eagles 6-0-39-0
Lampard* 82 (143 balls)
Remaketse 54 (60 balls)

Last Wicket: Whitehouse c. Stride b. Sipho 27 (FOW: 75/1)

Just had the Aussie under-19 manager on my case asking how many nets I'm going to him.
Don't be fooled, they will contact any manager of a 17yo respectable and try to get them to put 3 primary nets on. He won't make it, they will already have proficient batsmen on 3 nets. Train to suit your team.

I can sleep easy tonight knowing that we probably wouldn't have won even with a full line up!! Though still adding runs as we bat to 11 today!!

End of Over 38: 191-8, runrate=5.03, reqrunrate=8.92 (297-3)
Lawrenson 5-0-15-1
Graham* 10 (18 balls)
Tate 7 (5 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey b. Lawrenson 49 (FOW: 182/8)

He wants me to put 7 nets on! 3 bat, 2 field, 1 wk, 1 stamina.

Blimey.

I've had the WI U19 manager on, asking me about 2 Comps I bought earlier in the week, they must be really struggling....

Going to end up about 20 short in my game, just haven't found the boundary enough in the last 10.

BATTY SHRIMPERS v Lampys Lightning

BATTY SHRIMPERS won the toss and elected to field.

End of Over 46: 200-5, runrate=4.35, reqrunrate=16.25 (264-6)
Peters 8-0-50-1
Lindop* 85 (92 balls)
Evelyn 41 (55 balls)

Last Wicket: Schoeman b. Peters 23 (FOW: 112/5)

Well we lost but at least we broke the grounds 9th wicket partnership record!

End of Over 47: 239-8, runrate=5.09, reqrunrate=19.67 (297-3)
Lawrenson 9-0-43-1
Graham* 33 (48 balls)
Tate 28 (30 balls)

Last Wicket: Lamey b. Lawrenson 49 (FOW: 182/8)

Lost by 34 runs, but at least Lindop got his 1st 100 for the club.
