OD week 1

General Stars won the toss and elected to bat.
Reporter's Summary

Top Order: elite quality
Middle Order: proficient remarkable
Lower Order: abysmal competent
Seam Bowling: wonderful masterful
Spin Bowling: useless elite
Fielding: feeble respectable

MOTM: Dillon

Jackman got Dillon near the end, but it was too little too late. Batting looks a bit weak near the top as the normal number 9 was at number 3 ...

Very pleased with that. In fact it was such a good perfomance, they can all have Sunday off ;)

Some nice ratings as well, admittedly on a GFI

Jeez, very impressive! Please tell me that was GFI or I will feel woefully inadequate!

Disappointed. Looking at his team, he's been going for a fair bit longer than me obviously and has the better team, but still to lose my 1 wicket, when they still had 6 runs to get!

And that's the end of the match. DumbletonCC won by 1 wickets.

It was GFI, yes. The wonderful middle-order is misleading, as it's not very good (one wonderful, one remarkable and not much else), but never mind.

Always disappointing to be out of the country and unable to keep an eye on things. A very comfortable win that puts a strong message out to the rest of the division, though I'm gonna need a miracle to finish better than second.

Record gate receipts (£171,355) having expanded ground between seasons. Still plenty of room to go for capacity sell out.

All rounder gets to play a game and takes 5 for 14 in his 10 overs. He will be used in FC and OD next week then rested again.

Ratings were on a GFI but still best ever bowling ratings - My two batsmen trainees aren't going to push those ratings for a couple of seasons. I've only got £2.5M in the bank so could do with a YB like YP tomorrow to buy a batsman.
