OD - Matchday 7

I've set EVG 266 to win after posting 265-6 after a fine knock of 158 off 147 balls ( of which 60 runs came off the last 40 balls ) from Sookram and a nice 55 from Cooky. On a partially cloudy and humid day, i should go on to win this but he's playing his big gun today and he's in at 4. They currently have a 60K pw batter/wickie and 35K p/w batter in so its going to take wickets to do the damage as i'd imagine with these 3 at the top, they can chase down most totals! However, they do have quite a long tail, so need to get number 6 exposed sooner rather than later.

Sibte Afridi (791465) Sibte is a RH Batsman and RM Bowler. He is a destructive player with superb leadership skills and elite experience.

He currently has superb batting form, superb bowling form and energetic fitness.

Part of the Pakistan squad
Age: 27 Years Old
Battrick Rating: 202,937
Wages: £122,133 p/w

They are 31-1 in reply (off 7 overs) but have only taken their cack batter who didn't last very long!

Just seen that Bobby's side (who sit top) have lost by 5 wickets after being skittled for 101 so that means whoever wins my match this afternoon goes clear top at the halfway point!! Good bit of incentive!!

End of Over 9: 34-2, runrate=3.78, reqrunrate=5.66 (265-6)
Waters 5-0-16-1
Afridi* 1 (3 balls)
Raisani 23 (29 balls)

Last Wicket: Khurshid b. Raven 9 (FOW: 32/2)

Raven takes the big wicket of 60K p/w batter/wickie Khurshid and it bring the beast into the game!

Looking at the stats (as he's only been at EVG for the last month) he's played 4 OD games and has not once been got out yet!! Oh dear. I think its pretty clear what needs to happen, here! They chased down 296 last week (with 3 balls to spare in partially cloud and humid conditions (same as today) but pon a flat pitch) and scored 289 the week before so perhaps im 35 short!

coming on nicely

End of Over 12: 62-1, runrate=5.17, reqrunrate=4.34 (226-3)
Ashieq 1-0-6-0
Perry* 19 (32 balls)
Allan 41 (38 balls)

Last Wicket: Jefferson b. Greene 1 (FOW: 2/1)

Well RR is fine, but don't want to be losing too many wickets at this stage, although I do bat down to 7.

End of Over 14: 80-2, runrate=5.71, reqrunrate=3.44 (203-10)
Hazell 2-0-4-0
Hulse* 31 (29 balls)
Rowson 7 (9 balls)

Last Wicket: Dunstan Run Out 36 (FOW: 68/2)

As expected. No real disgrace, these guys and UGTF are way ahead of the rest of us.

And that's the end of the match. Parkway Sports won by 7 wickets.

Last Wicket: Patel lbw b. Walker 4 (FOW: 22/8)
12.1 W Walker to Sweeney
Walker gets one to cut back in off the pitch. The ball hits Sweeney close to the knee roll and appears to be going towards the leg stump. Walker thinks he's got him and the umpire agrees.
12.2 W Walker to Samuel
Yes... no... yes... and he's out. That's a terrible mix-up. His partner left him in no man's land and the fielder runs in to take the bails off.

JOHNSON 2nd BALL!!

14.2 W Johnson to Afridi
The batsman is struck on the back foot right in front of middle stump. Plumb LBW!
14.1 1 Johnson to Raisani
Great shot by Raisani and a superb piece of fielding by cover means it's only a single. Good cricket all round.

End of Over 14: 60-2, runrate=4.29, reqrunrate=5.72 (265-6)

End of Over 30: 139-2, runrate=4.63, reqrunrate=4.40 (226-3)
Schooney 10-0-42-0
Sagren* 5 (16 balls)
Allan 71 (73 balls)

Last Wicket: Perry c. Tait b. Saint 54 (FOW: 128/2)

Sagren's a plum. Now only a few batters left

35.3 W Ashieq to Sagren
Short and hammered straight to Howey at short midwicket, who has taken a screamer. Sagren can't believe his eyes and can barely drag himself from his crease. What a catch!
35.2 4 Ashieq to Sagren
Nice shot from Sagren, cover drive away for four.
35.1 4 Ashieq to Sagren
A superbly timed cut by Sagren races past backward point and just makes it past the cover sweeper for four.

End of Over 35: 172-2, runrate=4.91, reqrunrate=3.67 (226-3)
Eckstein 8-0-51-0
Sagren* 19 (27 balls)
Allan 90 (92 balls)

Last Wicket: Perry c. Tait b. Saint 54 (FOW: 128/2)

Tense. Francis goes. Macca in

End of Over 37: 188-4, runrate=5.08, reqrunrate=3.00 (226-3)
Eckstein 9-0-59-1
Mcdougal* 3 (2 balls)
Allan 95 (94 balls)

Last Wicket: Francis c. Kone b. Eckstein 0 (FOW: 185/4)

Good old Allan

40.2 4 Greene to Allan
Gets forward and looks to push through the covers, but doesn't quite get to the pitch and instead a thick edge whistles wide of the keeper and down to the boundary.
And that's a century for Allan! Well played indeed Sir!
40.1 1 Greene to Mcdougal
Pitched on the legs, Mcdougal flicks in the air to the long leg region, single taken.

End of Over 40: 198-4, runrate=4.95, reqrunrate=2.90 (226-3)
Ashieq 10-0-58-1
Mcdougal* 8 (16 balls)
Allan 99 (98 balls)

Last Wicket: Francis c. Kone b. Eckstein 0 (FOW: 185/4)

All he needs is one run to win the match!

43.6 W Saint to Allan
Lovely catch in the deep. Allan gets on his knee and tries to slog it over midwicket, the elevation was missing and Eckstein runs across from deep square leg and catches it in a forward dive. Amazing!
43.5 1 Saint to Dliza
Dliza has picked the gap and they'll run a single.
43.4 . Saint to Dliza
Oooh! Dliza nearly played on there, going back and defending and nearly chopping it onto his stumps.
43.3 1 Saint to Allan
Nicely swept away, single down to fine leg.
43.2 1 Saint to Dliza
Dliza really middled that one down the ground, but it's hit his partner and they only get a single to mid off.
43.1 1 Saint to Allan
Forward, stroked out to the region of deep midwicket.

End of Over 43: 222-5, runrate=5.16, reqrunrate=0.71 (226-3)
Greene 7-0-36-2
Allan* 112 (106 balls)
Dliza 1 (1 balls)

Last Wicket: Mcdougal b. Greene 18 (FOW: 220/5)

And that's the end of the match. Napster's XI won by 4 wickets.
