OD - Matchday 7

Todays encounter sees me taking on the team in 6th place in my division, 1 spot and 4 points below me. The top 4 teams are going to saty as they are so it's results amongst the bottom 4 teams which will determine who goes down automatically and who goes into the play offs.

So far I've beaten the two teams occupying 7th and 8th, but today is another big day for the team and am hopeful of a result. The oppos players look far stronger than mine but several have fitness levels that are "fresh", wheras mine are largely sublime with a few energetics.

I have decided to play my strongest XI and have GFI'd it, so fingers crossed we get the right result!

Good luck to everyone else today.

It's a biggie for me today, playing the top team who are also on 100%, Allbrook Allstars. GFIing on a full-strength side, picked my onform trainee Mccafferty and new 500k batsman purchase Dliza. Win today and I should go up.

Playing Pudlington who have thrown all of their OD games apart from last week, so I was worried they'd play their first team, but luckily they haven't and I TIE'd. I needed this win.

Welcome to Southend United CG for the match between Southend United and Pudlington CC.

We can tell you that Pudlington CC won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking quite cracked! A field day for the seam bowlers I would reckon on this partially cloudy day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 1: 14-0, runrate=14.00
Sweeney 1-0-14-0
Marcel* 5 (2 balls)
Wright 9 (4 balls)

Two batsmen in who have only fair and fresh fitness.

Welcome to The Cranbrook Arena for the match between Napster's XI and Allbrook Allstars.

We can tell you that Napster's XI won the toss and elected to field. The pitch is looking like a road. As flat as a pancake. No help for the bowlers on this partially cloudy day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 4: 16-1, runrate=4.00
Allan 2-0-7-1
Knowles* 5 (13 balls)
Kone 8 (10 balls)

Last Wicket: Livesey c & b. Allan 1 (FOW: 5/1)

Welcome to Urchins XI CG for the match between Urchins XI and The Flying Scotsmen.

We can tell you that Urchins XI won the toss and elected to bat. The pitch is looking a touch on the green side. All the seam bowlers have been out there rubbing their hands on this partially cloudy and humid day.

Lets join our team for ball-by-ball commentary.

End of Over 6: 22-0, runrate=3.67
Woodhall 3-0-11-0
Hunt-seviour* 14 (23 balls)
Lukhanyo 8 (13 balls)

End of Over 10: 49-1, runrate=4.90
Allan 5-0-28-1
Kone* 27 (28 balls)
Knowles 19 (31 balls)

Last Wicket: Livesey c & b. Allan 1 (FOW: 5/1)

Hmmm. Making hard work of this.

Delighted to see my oppo throw the game, although annoyingly they've made me bat first.

I had 3 members leave today (despite being top in FC and second on NRR in FC) so I badly need this win.

End of Over 22: 96-2, runrate=4.36
Allan 6-0-32-1
Knowles* 45 (67 balls)
Howey 15 (21 balls)

Last Wicket: Kone st. Perry b. Hoult 33 (FOW: 65/2)

Doing OK, need to tighten the run rate a bit.

End of Over 27: 105-2, runrate=3.89
Nethercott 4-0-11-0
Knowles* 50 (85 balls)
Howey 19 (33 balls)

Last Wicket: Kone st. Perry b. Hoult 33 (FOW: 65/2)

more like it. and with Neeky to come back in and Hoult for a second spell we should get them to a low score.

Getting a bit of a shoeing from the league leaders.

End of Over 32: 95-9, runrate=2.97
Lias 6-1-16-2
Graham* 0 (13 balls)
Sutherland 0 (4 balls)
Last Wicket: Schofield lbw b. Lias 0 (FOW: 95/9)

Interesting period of the game coming up. Another couple of wickets and i'm into them. We shall see!

End of Over 32: 131-3, runrate=4.09
Stoner 6-1-10-0
Plaatjies* 1 (9 balls)
Os 29 (34 balls)

Last 10 and now for Neeky and McCafferty (my trainee prospect) to hold them back

End of Over 40: 149-2, runrate=3.73
Mccafferty 10-0-32-0
Howey* 42 (73 balls)
Knowles 70 (123 balls)

Last Wicket: Kone st. Perry b. Hoult 33 (FOW: 65/2)

Suthers makes it interesting taking out two 6 figure batsmen in two balls. Unfortunately they have better ones to come, 100k+ players all the way down to 8.

End of Over 3: 9-2, runrate=3.00, reqrunrate=1.96 (100-10)
Sutherland 2-1-4-2
Tšeliso* 3 (10 balls)
Beard 0 (0 balls)
Last Wicket: Smith b. Sutherland 0 (FOW: 9/2)

2.6 W Sutherland to Smith
Smith tries to chop it down to third man, but ends up playing on to his stumps. Groans from the crowd and Smith almost smashes his own listing timbers with anger.
2.5 W Sutherland to Croft
He fences at a short one and directs an easy looper straight to Marriott at third slip. A line of lads dressed as Monty Python Gumbys slump in their plastic seats.

Got another but it's now 400k of batsmen at the crease.

End of Over 9: 29-3, runrate=3.22, reqrunrate=1.76 (100-10)
Sutherland 5-2-9-3
Tšeliso* 17 (28 balls)
Woodhouse 5 (10 balls)
Last Wicket: Beard c. Marriott b. Sutherland 1 (FOW: 21/3)

LOL B!!

Well halfway through the match, and not sure how this is going to turn out.

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 49: 203-10, runrate=4.14
Woodhall 9-0-43-5
Evans* 1 (1 balls)

The players are off the field for the break between innings.

End of Over 50: 372-4, runrate=7.44

Hoult* 85 (68 balls)
Gichki 16 (11 balls)
Last Wicket: Hulse Run Out 0 (FOW: 337/4)

No further breakthrough so pretty much game over as Graham is coming on next.

End of Over 21: 67-3, runrate=3.19, reqrunrate=1.17 (100-10)
Marriott 4-0-15-0
Woodhouse* 16 (41 balls)
Tšeliso 40 (69 balls)
Last Wicket: Beard c. Marriott b. Sutherland 1 (FOW: 21/3)
