NOW THE CULL MUST START

If Bradbury and Gower aren't good enough for the Championship then we're in a whole world of trouble. They're probably our two most technically-gifted players in the squad. I'm certain that both will be here next year, even if Bradbury is used more up-front.

If anyone thinks that Tilson will make wholesale changes then you are sadly mistaken. Players will leave, but i am sure that Tilly will want to maintain the team ethic and spirit shown over the past two seasons.

Any new player will also have to fit squarely into this as well.

I didnt want to join in threads about possible players we should buy/sell before we went up as I didn't want to tempt fate. I still don't want to start having a pop at players who have worked extremely hard this sesaon(and last) in achieveing amazing things.

I think it's obvious we need some players to compete next season but I think we should let this brilliant bunch of players enjoy their promotion and support them whilst they clinch the title.

What will it do for a players confidence having just won Promotion to come on here and view all the messages of conrgatulations only to see that we are already calling for them to be dropped/sacked/let go.....

We'll have the whole summer to talk about transfers. Lets savour what we've achieved before we start to rip up the team that have given us such amzing memoires over the apst 2 seasons! Who knows it might be another 15 years before we get another promotion!

Funny I was thinking the same thing, we've just won promotion FFS and already the lads are getting written off by their own fans. Tilly makes the decisions and we support whatever he see is right.

Well said Bucks Blue couldnt have put it any better

we need to to celebrate our promotion with all the team and with a win on saturday we will be celebrating as champions

we need to get behind the team on saturday and shout scream sing the way to victory

Iam agasint the break up of this team, we need all of them together, only players who don't look like breaking into the first team will get fixed up with new club.

Quote[/b] ]I love the fact that we've even TRIED to get him. I remember hearing an interview in which a Man U insider was talking about Rossi as being considered by many to be "the best finisher at the club".

Man Utd want him to go out on a season loan at Championship club for 2006/07 season to pick up first team experince, we are a Championship club, there is no reason why we can get him on loan.

I have this feeling with all the talk on bringing new people in, some current sqaud players will leave as they believe in higher wages e.g. Gutts maybe etc

I think we should keep most of our current squad and give them a chance to show what they can do. I think we'll surprise a few teams next year and i'm confident with Eastwoods goals we'll stay up, comfortably.

I really hope you're right as it would be great to get someone like that in.

My gut feel is that wages would be an issue and Rossi may well end up with a northern club already well established in the Championship - probably someone like Preston (if they don't go up) as they are nearby. Isn't that where Beckham went?

Yes Beckham was on loan at Preston for a time.

I agree that wages will be an issue, however the loaning club can also pay part of the wage.

Also I think Rossi is Italian/American so the North or South of England should not be a difference, but of course this is only speculation and rumour at the moment.

Talk of a mass cull is ridiculous. Our success over the past two seasons has largely been based on team spirit and a close-knit community within the squad. I can only see Tilly releasing Bart (too injury prone) and Edwards (not likely to figure). Petts and Smith may go as well but I can see at least one of them being offered a new deal because we're light in the centre of midfield. Goater is retiring of course and Prior may do likewise but everybody else will - and should - be offered new contracts.

Wayne Gray may not be everybody's cup of tea but I think he will be a useful squad player next season and he may enjoy playing against Championship defences more because they will most likely defend further up the pitch and leave him more space in behind to utilise his pace.

Benno definitely deserves to stay - he has his limitations but he's a wholehearted player and always gives 100%.

Gower is a frustrating player at times but as long as he stays fit, his versatility makes him a must for next season.

Bradbury has done a fine job since signing in January and should be kept on, though primarily as a striker.

Jupp and Hunt both deserve a crack at the next level and Hunt's versatility at the back definitely counts in his favour.

That only leaves Maher, who is the lynchpin of the team and with a testimonial on the cards, surely he won't go elsewhere. Everybody else, I believe, is still under contract.

As for new signings, I believe we need a new goalkeeper to keep Flavs on his toes (Rhys Evans, maybe?); a centre-half (my recommendation would be Sancho of Gillingham); a full-back, preferably left-sided (Chris Powell would be fantastic but Lewington of MK Dons is more realistic); a central midfielder to add competition for Maher and Gutts (McCormack would be ideal, if not maybe Gary Smith of MK Dons); and a striker (Jevons or Byfield would be realistic).

I'd keep them all as i'm a little bit of the opinion that they have ALL deserved their crack at Championship football. We all know that this is football of course, and TIlly will know who is likely to struggle, as we probably all are.

It's all about opinions, and i think that with the size of our squad, we'll be keeping the vast majority and add to the area's of perceived weakness...both full backs and down the flanks perhaps, as well as a partner for Freddy.

Gower - Not sure what you have taken but stop mate. He has played every game when fit and scored what 5 or 6 goals. Also have 7 assists for the season.....More change of Freddy being released and rightly so.

Lawson aint going to cost much so cant see that either.

I wold suggest there are 22 champioship lcubs ahead of us as well as maybe 5 premier clubs so wouldnt hol out much hope on this one. When do we ever go for Northern players bar JCR who is a Londoner anyway......

Rossi will be playing the Premier$hite next season. He'd be a replacement for Eastwood rather than a partner anyway.

If any knows football they would realise what a key player Maher is!!!!!!!!! Bart will go always injured.
