NOW THE CULL MUST START

so we are facing championship football next season, and I think Tilly faces his most difficult decisions who to keep, despite winning promotion, I think a lot of the current squad will not be suited to playing at a higher level, So some of the players, must shuffle in and receive their papers. I think, starting from the back, Hunt, Wilson, Jupp , Pettifer, Maher, Gray and of course The Goat retiring will all need to be placed, Maher has done loyal service, but I think the nedt league is beyond him, Also our back 4 has looked horribly week in recent weeks, but then can Sodyou play at a higher level?? Who would be a manager

Very wrong about Maher. Higher league football suits him more than lower league football.
Infact this is a wind up post yes?

Are you going to pay for the new transfer kitty?

I think we need to look at this realistically. Tilson's not going to lose that many first teamers in one go.

Besides that, if a player is good enough to (maybe) play in a Championship winning side, why shouldn't he get a chance at the next level?

Why would Tilly buy Sodje if he didn't think he could play at a higher level?
Why would Tilly get rid of a squad that has bonded well and been successful? Even he said that "80% of our success" was due to team spirit.
Maher not good enough. Well if our captain isn't good enough then the team isn't good enough. Not saying he's the best player but he's the captain and the leader. Why don't we reward his service by getting rid of him, that would set a good example to the younger players, great idea

The back four has looked weak, but then the team in general has looked weak. Thats pressure for you. The squads small enough as it is, we can't afford to get rid of half it otherwise we wouldn't have a squad, we wouldnt even have a team!

I agree with some of the players you mention but I wouldn't actually get rid of them. We have the smallest squad in Lg1, therfore we need to add quality to it in the shape of a few players, however these players would be more than adequate as back up players and deserve the chance of stepping up a level.

Its break up the team spirts if that ever happen, Hull would have finished higher than where they are now, if Peter Taylor did'nt get rid some of his promotion winning squad & buy too many new players from summer to Jans, that why its took Hull ages to gels & finish in bottom half, just!

The players Tilson will get rid, is one that who cannot break into the 1st team, I reckon he will keep 16 best players but add 6 new players (Included 1 or 2 season loans from Premier$hite club). Goater will go as (hopefully Champion), Edward will leave, Petts (done well last season, but unlucky this season) will have clubs from League 1 or 2 after him. 3 or 4 fringe players will go.

With our squad being one of the smallest in the football league, I can't see Tilly getting rid of many players. Especially when the Goat is retiring, Edwards likely to leave, and Prior close to retirement. That's 3 down already. He is more likely to add 4 or 5 new faces to the squad and release no more than 1 or 2.

Spot on. Let's face it, we're not going to get bundles of cash for Jupp, Petts, Che et al, so best to keep them as squad members.

I think the spine of the team is ok ie Flavs, Sodje, Barrett, Gutts, Maher, and of course Freddie. We need to replace the full backs, wide Midfield and another striker to partner Freddie - thats not to say we get rid of the current players as they have done a great job for us but if we want to be competitive the other players will be more as back up and be replaced by a bit more quality

We have been lucky this season with injuries and suspensions which means our small squad wasn't strecthed too much at times. In the summer we need to add numbers especially in terms of quality. Keeping the current team together will keep the team spirit, i feel that everyone of the team deserves the chance to try their skills at the next level. but only a few of them (the spine as previously mentioned) would be able to cut it week in, week out in the Championship. the others will have to be used as backup anc over. We need to bring in quality now. Its a whole different ball game.

Tilly keeps mentioning team spirit as a reason for this seasons success. I think that releasing players will be counterproductive.
Certainly we need additional players, Che , as committed as he is, will get found out in the Championship, but will provide more than adequate cover. As will Jupp and Hunt. I feel Petts may be on his way . I reckon that the bulk will stay and be gradually released as we consolidate our championship position.
The Commitment and passion we have with the current squad will not be enough for a top 10 finish in the Championship but it could well be the difference between mid table and a relegation fight

Goater & Edwards will definitely be leaving, along with Bart.

I believe that Pettefer, Hunt, Jupp, Maher, Prior, Bradbury, Jay Smith, are out of contract, and I would suggest that all of these apart from Jay Smith will get a new contract offer. Whether they accept is another matter, I am sure Petts will leave to get the chance of first team football elsewhere, and he can't be blamed for that.

I think we would need to operate on a bare minmum squad of 22 next season, so i reckon we can expect to see around 6 new arrivals during the summer. Possibly more depending on who does or does not accept their new contracts.

I am certain that Tilson will not deliberately break up the squad that has served us so well, but he and all of us want to see us be competitive next season.

I have a friend who works for a sports management company, basically the posh term for an agent and he says we have made an approach to Man Utd for their young striker Giuseppe Rossi for a season loan, my guess we may try and get a few Premier$hite youngsters on loans as we certianly wont have £1m to plus out on 4 players

I love the fact that we've even TRIED to get him. I remember hearing an interview in which a Man U insider was talking about Rossi as being considered by many to be "the best finisher at the club".

I'd be happy with half of that!

Surely we should be talking about Wayne Gray whose performances in 2006 have been very poor and whose goal record(when u discount penalties) is no better than Brambles. I would get rid of him, Petts and Smith.

Bradbury, Gower, Bart, Pettefer and Lawson will all be let go. They are definatly not good enough for the Championship.

bit harsh on lawson, bradbury and gower. Lawson is still young - maybe a season loan deal somewhere to get him first team action will be better. We are still to see the best from Bradbury I feel and hope he stays. Gower blows hot and cold as we all know but on his day he could trouble Championship defenders.

Bart - Enough said
Lawson - Not enough pace or strength. What are his redeeming features?
Bradbury - Striker, does not shoot but very good in the air
Gower - Played out of position, granted, but he won't cut the mustard
Petts - Hasnt had a chance

Also Smith will be released!
