(Not) Live on Sky

After all the doom and gloom around the club at the moment, i cheered up momentarily when i noticed The Sky Sports Live schedule has been announced today. Of course with 85% of our home games being moved to friday nights, i thought we MUST be live a least once or twice this season...

Well guess what. No we are not. Not once. All those big games on Friday night, and we're not on T.V. once.

Thanks SkySports!

i dont see why they or you should care.

Well quite simply the amount of games we play on Friday night this year, i would have expected at least one or two of them to be shown live.
Why do i care? Extra money, extra publicity.

Would be nice for Southend fans who have moved away and can't get to Roots Hall for games to watch The Blues play.

Doesn't surprise me that none of our games are live, Sky don't really hold us in great esteem as a big/attractive team unless we are playing Chelsea/Manure.

Nice to know you still have all your discussion/debating skills intact.

Sky and BBC have a contract with the Football League to show 75 games (plus play offs)during next season (65 Sky, 10 BBC), the vast majority will be Championship games with a smattering of League One and League Two games. Whether we're on Friday night or not makes no odds, they will pick the games they want and then they will be moved to the relevant timeslot. With Leeds, Southampton, Charlton and Norwich in our division we have very little chance of being picked as unlike the Premier League contract, there are no agreements in place to show each club a minimum number of times.
