Norwich have extended Matt Dennis contract

Or alternatively get a couple of bob for him rather than letting him go on a free.
What they'd get for him though with only a year left on his contract though is probably pocket money to them, even if they get relegated.

Well that definitely rules us out of nabbing him on a perm. Will we go in for him on loan again next season?...unlikely. I suspect he'll get a gig in the EFL instead and good luck to him.

Let's see what the football department have up their sleeves then in terms of a replacement...

Didn't post it though did you.

For me, he's a player destined for a non-league career despite his pace and occasional moments of brilliance.
Was I supposed to post it?

I do think you're right but still young so I assume Norwich still hope he can grow. A lot is down to the player to prove to them and himself.

Yes & no. [That's helpful - editor]

Mr Dennis clearly has some talent but something doesn't quite seem right at the moment.

Who knows - it could be any number of reasons from missing his mum/girlfriend or not fitting in very well socially.

Perhaps a simple case of more development required before a blossoming career beckons but there have been players such as Coulthirst as well.

Very surprised to see that Norwich have extended his contract via the option, and that he's referred to as a midfielder rather than a striker...

As said above, would probably see him at a L1 club next season. Goals with us has probably saved his Norwich career for the time being.

That’s probably why he hasn’t shown the same enthusiasm for us the last few games he knows he’s ok for 12 months at Norwich. Mayher was shouting at him last home game but he looked up an carried on ignoring his instructions .

Indeed. You cant coach desire, commitment and a winning mentality.

I have seen Powell get a lot of stick from the last two games but I would chose Powell over of Dennis for next season. Yes Dennis has the better pedigree but he wont do enough for a NL team.

Powell was lively and created pressure early on v Wealdstone. Not his fault we couldn't finish or take even an average set piece. Some work on the timing of his runs from a Cardwell flick, or better still run across the back line then dart towards the goal. If he stays on-side thats a partnership most CB's wont want to face.

Powell just needs some game time to calm him down a bit.

He's had some injuries too, maybe that's why in the last few games he hasn't shone like he did.
Same pace and directness needed, but injury free and committed would be better, if the amigo's can find such a gem
