Northampton away!

Stupid decision by Northampton IMO. We may not sell out our allocation, but as someone said if we're still in the top 5 it's possible we could take almost a thousand fans. All this means is we have to leave unnecessarily early.

Can't SUFC question this decision and get Northampton to reconsider?

They seem to have lots of seats on the side from memory so I am sure we can have some of those if we oversell.

Any idea what time the tickets will be on sale from? I was planning to go and visit family in Milton Keynes and then onto the game but maybe I'll have to do it the other way round.

Maybe as the club monitor the board they might pick up on our concerns and ask Northampton to reconsider. I'm coming down for this game & I for one don't want to either miss it or have to smuggle myself into the home seats!

Or maybe if we have concerns we should contact the club...?

Maybe, but surely if people have a problem they can contact the club themselves?

I was just thinking that the Trust would more likely be listened to that a number of supporters with individual concerns (plus even if all those affected off of here all agreed to email/phone the club would it actually achieve anything?)

According to a contact at Northampton, this decision from Northampton is based on advice from SUFC ticket office.

SUFC ticket office are basing their assumption on the fact we did not sell out all the Brighton tickets, despite :-

1. We were near the bottom of the league at the time.
2. Because of the ballot, many non-seaso's probably thought they wouldn't get one and didn't bother, made other arrangements
3. A lot of people turned up on the day and we actually did sell out.

Anyone with concerns, direct your questions to the ticket office manager at SUFC please.

:p

Southend's ticket office in knee-jerk-reaction-based-on-one-game shocker! :minger:

Cheers for finding out the background facts.

Another reason people did not go to Brighton was the cost of tickets & the poor view (£22.50 Adults).

However Northampton is cheaper & a much better view plus it's only our 2nd 'local' away game of the season I can easily see us taking 1,000+ fans.

Checked the allocation and there's 1150 away seats (850 behind the goal & 300 on the side).

I think some people are panicking unnecessarily. Northampton wouldn't have made this decision lightly and would have taken previous away turn-outs, and potential turn-out if we are riding high, into consideration.

When we have previously visited there has always been an empty section to the right of where we sit behind the goal. Indeed, about 4 or 5 years ago, my laddo and I's tickets were for that section but we were ushered to behind the goal.

Northampton fans won't turn out in force for our visit, bearing in mind that they didn't even sell out for our play-off game, and I'm sure that they will have a number of spare sections for us if our attendance creeps over the 1,500 mark. They won't turn our money down, that's for certain.

Just go, enjoy the day, and don't worry.
