When, I've watched him play for us, his technique, movement and all around play has stood out, even when he's come on as a sub. It's really all about financial resources and for PB to have the best SQUAD available with the funds available. If it's reasonable, based on pay as you play, Noel would be a good one to keep. Instinctive scorer, good role model, leader on the field not many of his ability in L1. Even at every 3rd game or coming off the bench, will always be a potential goalscorer and game winner.

If we'd have offered him a pay as you play deal last year, I doubt he'd have signed. His stock was a lot higher last summer, he was coming from a high-end Championship club where he had enjoyed a relatively successful spell (he had some injury issues but still made a fair impact at Ipswich).

There's no way another club would not have offered him a better deal. Wasn't he mulling over a move to Chicago?

Now, he's failed to make an impact at League One level due to injury and clubs will see him as damaged goods, plus he's another year older.

This forum makes me laugh, a couple of people last year said, don't sign him only do it on a pay as you play, the majority of the forum, and the big posters said, don't be silly someone of Noel Hunts stature can't be offered this? Now look? He has not played a lot since 2013.... It was a gamble that cost us a fair bit, I can see he has brilliant quality if he was fit, got to be a pay per play deal.

It's great that the Forum makes you laugh, but I can't find any posts that said this. Are you sure you're talking about ShrimperZone?

He only started three matches and came off in all of them nearer to half time than the final whistle.

Pay as you play would be fine as he is a class act but anything that involves a wage I would stay away from. Resources limited at this end as it is cannot afford to keep a known crock as good as he is.

Sorry but he is another Freedman and we are the only mugs who will pay him. Build the team around younger attacking players with points to prove.

Spot on Mick.... They are dreaming.. The stats don't lie since 2013....

Stats are a funny thing. Barry Corr's figures before Southend;

05/06 - 0 in 18 appearances (1 yellow)
06/07 - 4 in 13 appearances (3 yellows)
07/08 - 5 in 20 appearances (1 red, 4 yellows)
08/09 - 2 in 14 appearances (1 yellow)
09/10 - 6 in 37 appearances (3 reds, 3 yellows)

Then, wham - 21 goals for us in 47 appearances

So for five seasons prior to coming here, he was a shot-shy, injury-prone fiery striker. Would you have said no to BBBC?

"...a couple of people last year said..."

But you only joined the Forum in February.

yes I used to view.... And clear the cookies.... Before.....

With a glass of milk and a straw, I hope. Keep the crumbs out of the keyboard though, they can cause the keys not to work properly or cause everything to begin with a Capital letter.

I am a fan of Mr Hunt - thought it best to say that first .......... but I feel there might be a bit of a "catch 22" here ......

Supposing we were to have 4 decent strikers in the squad (Hunt plus 3 others) I would rather presume that unless Hunt struck up a great partnership with 1 of the other strikers he (Hunt) would be spending much of his time on the bench.

In which case Hunt's body does not take such a battering, does it? And the fitness issue is slightly diminished.

Or if Hunt is to be playing from the start, it rather raises the question as to the ability of the other strikers that we have at the club, doesn't it?

Lastly, we had that hungry, young and pacy forward called Loza at the club didn't we? Sometimes it takes more than just an empty stomach when you are up against defenders who have had many years of experience dealing with opposition forwards.

Loza, if that's a Brown quality signing.... Well.... As I said months ago, he don't even seem to have that pace he used to have.... See a lot better in non league...I really don't know how these people get contracts...
