Nicky Bailey's goal

Was probably the most 'technically perfect' goal i have even seen live.

He didn't just lash at it and hope it had technique in the way he positioned his body and hit the ball with the exact part of the foot that was needed.

There have been some great goals.

But what is the most perfect goal you have ever seen live?

Your thoughts...

Agree that was also simply quite brilliant. But i felt Baileys had a certain silky feel to it the way the ball feel on the volley and drifted into the top left corner with minimum ease.

Thought McCormacks was the better of the two but Baileys was certainly special, shame it couldnt be a winning goal.

Unfortunately I saw neither live...

Peter Clarkes, even with a bit of a deflection was pretty sweet bearing in mind the opposition.

most of Collymore's were special, but Andy Sussex's 30 yarder was pretty good, at home to someone or other

Probably the best Southend goal I have seen live. Missed Collymore's season entirely and wasn't at Preston for that Macca goal, which I would say certainly looked better than Bailey's.

Best goal by any player that I've seen live would have to be Zidane's volley against Bayer Leverkusen in the 2002 European Cup final ;)

McCormack's will always be the better goal for me because it meant something. Having said that they were both as technically gifted as each other in different respects.

Didnt expect many to agree with me with Macca's rocket in contention.

But i just loved the way Baileys was sheer finesse, it really was a beautiful goal. Where as Maccas was sheer power.

Both sensational goals.

Maybe im biased.

I do have Bailey on the back of my shirt. :)

maher just doesn't score goals like those!

the millwall goals were gutting... why did the wall jump?!

I've been asking myself this question since Tuesday, schoolboy error in my book

it's right on the edge of the box so i doubt even ronaldo could get it up and down, so why the wall jumped i'll never know:thump:

Just seen the highlights myself. Not only did the wall jump, it separated as well!

Bailey's goal looks even better than it did at the time, fantastic technique.

Oh, and Scannell's sending off looks extremely harsh, having seen it again. He looked like he won the ball cleanly and he certainly didn't go over the top of it.

absolutely, all the wall has to do is stay together and on the ground and the ball wouldn't have got through.

to be honest I can understand why he was sent off. it wasn't violent but definitely dangerous, i don't think he needed to go to ground but i think it was defensive as the other guy dived in too... put it down to naivety to be honest, disappointing but if it was the other way around and he didn't get sent off im sure we would see it differently
