Nicky Bailey

I booed Campbell-Ryce !

Not because he left, or wanted to leave, but because in the pre-season he did leave, he was a complete areshole..including calling Harrold a c-word on the pitch, disrespecting his team-mates and acting like he was some big man. He was a promising player but never did it for me in truth.. was glad he left...

By any chance was that at the Great Wakering game when it all kicked off? I remember that.

And those people deserve a good kicking!! And I will be the first to challenge someone if they boo him, as I did the arrogant prick in front of me when he decided to boo JCR.
Watch out, Riceys about :D

Freddy is most definitely the 2nd most talented player to pull on an SUFC shirt during my time supporting the Blues. I'd be surprised if he was booed unless he suddenly comes out with bad words against SUFC. Which I'd also be quite surprised about if that happened.

Interesting scenario if Charlton got relegated. Presume Bailey would instantly ask for a transfer as he wants to play higher league football and to hell with his contract.

From what I hear they would be rock bottom without him. Charlton wont go down though.. Still have Premier Parachute Payments

He'll get his "dream move" to Stoke I'm sure

That wouldn't be a bad move for him to be honest and hopefully we will do well with a sell on clause. So at the end of the day people the better he plays and the better he does the more monies he can make us.

Some of you peeps do make me laugh Bailey was immense for us tried his heart out in every game even when he knew he would be leaving. I ask you this why not the same bile for Rickets who was a fat, lazy waster?

Said before Bailey is a kid who probably went about things the wrong way but does that make him worse than the clever pro who wants to leave but makes the right noises and plays the game? At the end of the day the result is the same they leave, but some of you choose to vilify one but not the other. Bailey was a legend for us and if you peeps cannot see that then I feel sorry for you I really do.

Maybe because Ricketts was never an integral part of the team like Bailey, and certainly didn't waffle on about us being his "dream move". Ricketts had no cause to show us any kind of loyalty at all, Bailey should have and is certainly no legend.

I disagree Bailey did a good job for us in every game he played as I keep saying went about it the wrong way but that does n't change the fact he would have left whatever he said.

Not many players put as much into wearing a blue shirt as he did even when he knew he was off.

So Rickets was n't an integral member of the team but was on a big salary and could n't be bothered to get himself fit and deliver what he had the talent to do I know which one of the two had a more positive effect on our club and it was n't lard a**e

Exactly, and that's why Bailey's defection was so hard to accept. You just don't wear the Southend colours with such passion and then treat the club so cavalierly.

Good argument ... Can see both sides of the story.

Baileys final game against Peterborough - he was immense !
Then he went and called off sick

Whichever way you look at it, thats your own opinion !

We the fans spoke in a poll I believe, your the kind that wouldn't want to know the result..........

Completely different. JCR conducted himself in a professional manner, and you are right, he wrongly got booed on his return.

Bailey, on the other hand, while being owned and more importantly, paid by Southend United, refused to play in a game. That is completely separate, and it reminds me of the Berbatov situation. They are both complete and utter :censored:

I still have a great hatred towards Bailey. If he ever comes back to SUFC, I hope he receives the strongest "welcoming" SUFC fans have to offer. And if Clarke could go bulldozing through him and end his season it would be even better.

Einstein thats an incredibly bad post from you. Is there any evidence Bailey refused to play or is it just the gossip on this board? I never heard anything like that from Tillson.

With regard to JCR, I was talking to Brian Wheeler in the Club lounge at the Cheltenham game and he said "JCR is desperate to leave" and wasnt in the squad for the Leeds or Watford game. Had he refused to play?

Bailey put a lot more into this Club than JCR ever did - do I need to remind you he also played for Col U and Orient? - and as for Clarke "bulldozing" him, that wont happen, he isnt good enough.

Anyone saying Bailey is a Judas has either never had a job or is being naive. Given the chance to earn substantially more money, and work at a higher level, how many would say actually no?

Bailey told Sky Sports the night before the Peterborough game that he didn't want to play in the match. Then Ron Martin said a few days later that Bailey had phoned in sick a few hours before the Cheltenham game.
