New Southend Stadium

The Business
Assuming FF gets the go ahead we cant really call it FF can we as so ground is called Farm. So what would you call it.

I fancy the Shrimpers Arena.

Think New Roots Hall would get a lot of votes but it will probably be a sponsored stadium e.g. Liberty Arena or Emirates Stadium.

Lets hope Uncle Ron doesn't get as manic as that nutter George Reynolds and call it the Martin Arena/Stadium......

It doesn't really matter what we want, as ultimately Ron Martin will get a sponsor for it. Nevertheless I'd keep the exact same name; Roots Hall.

If it's to our benefit then I won't mind if it's name is sponsored, although I'd quite like it to be called 'New Roots Hall', even though it's a fair distance away.

Thing is, it's been known as Fossetts Farm for so long now that although it is bound to have some drab soulless sponsor for a name, everybody will probably still refer to it as Fossetts Farm. I certainly will.

Got to be New Roots Hall. I don't know why other clubs don't do this more -- I can only think of the New Den.

Hopefuly we can blag a big sponsor so like Ashburton Grove will be called The Emirates Stadium we might get something like Betterviews Biggest Building

Will be shame though, i recall some of the great NFL stadiums which lost their appeal a bit when sponsors took over:
Candlestick Park = 3Com Park now changed to Monster Park
Soldier Field change to the Heinz stadium but has now changed back.

As the long as the word 'arena' isn't used I don't particularly care what they call it (although I'm not keen on FF either).
