Well done, Dave. That'll teach me to doubt you in future.

Agree with Upminster though. There was really NO NEED for the picture of Grim's ugly mug!

What was the delay in the opening, I arrived at 2.00 and had to wait at least 10 mins! Very nice inside, but very hot! Air conditioning desperately needed, and some of the prices are just a little bit on the expensive side. However, I got all the signatures and photos I wanted so can't complain too much!

Very impressed with the new clobber and the shop itself, it was hot but they have got air-con but hadnt sussed out how to use it ( i turned one of them off that was bellowing out hot air). Freddy , Sir Adam and Spinner were very sociable some others maybe a bit on the shy side but Lewis Hunt appeared to be doing everyone a favour and was gone within 10 mins !!! Is that typical of him

I saw Sir Adam talking to a bunch of kids and signing their autograph books, whilst all the other players (with a couple of exceptions) just sat by the windows chatting with each other.

BTW did the shrimpers have a training session this morning or did flavs really drive all the way from southampton just to be there at the shop opening? If so that's what I call club commitment!

Looks good. It'll be interesting to see any reactions of the away fans that see it as it surely must be one of the best around in this League.

Me and statski had a long chat with Sir Adam and he's a really nice bloke. Asked him about what he would see as a successful season and he said obviously he'd love another promotion but establishing ourselves in L1 is very important and something that would be satisfactory come next Summer. On the Goat he said we probably know more than the squad do, we told him the rumours about Goater being at the Hall last Thursday/Friday and he said someone of his ability and stature would be a great asset. He said he was delighted at how far the club has come since he joined in terms of promotion (obviously) and the quality in the squad. Also said he was looking forward to the new season and said it was "exciting" being in a higher division. We did mention to him about his proposed contract extension where all news has gone quiet recently and he said he very much wants to stay and has tried to contact Ron but it hasn't moved on much since the initial declaration by RM that he wanted to secure Adam's future. Seemed to me that he loves the club and genuinely would like to sort something out as soon as possible, he said it puzzled him a bit as to why most contract negotiations drag on and on as to him it all seems very simple. Hopefully they'll be some positive news soon regarding his new deal, he did say however that he kind of understood that Tilly/Ron had other things on their minds with regards chasing signings so he wasn't too concerned.

We spoke to Juppy briefly - he seems very much in a world of his own! In the end though it was great to get out of there....I was sweating buckets - AIR CONDITIONING PLEASE!!

Yep looks like it, must have missed him. Looks like he nicked Wayne's trousers!

Also, I like the design on the outside wall, very classy

I did that, well I didn't do the actual painting but I did the digital artwork first. It's not complete yet, there's a crowd scene to be added in as well.

could have got a pic without ex-loanee Alan McCormack David...........

Flavs now rents somewhere closer to the club. Can't remember where. You could ask Wiggy.

I spoke to tilly yesterday morning asking his plans for the day

he said ''photoshoot for the team photo this morning followed by a training session down at boots and laces and then me and the rest of the lads will be going for a sauna''

''sauna'' i said ''we have one of those at the training ground do we''

''no'' said tilly ''we'll just all nip into the new club shop''

f**k me it was hot in there

poor angell delight whilst talking to adam barrett he had drips of sweat running down his face

I went down the new club shop after work last night at about 7pm - wasn't as hot as earlier, but I can see why it would with the massive windows etc.

The best compliment I can make, is that it actually looks like a sports shop now, with racks of decent gear to buy (in all sizes). Had a quick chat with Claire, and some northern bloke in a Nike Polo-Shirt who I guess works for Just Sport, who both said that more merchandise will be put out between now and Saturday.

A few things were missing that I wanted to have a look at - i.e. the Avec training gear that the boys have been wearing in pre-season training, but I am sure that they will be in the shop over the next few weeks.

10 out of 10 to the club - it's a step in the right direction, and one less thing I am sure for people to moan about...

Pity about Grimm working in there though....

I don't think I've EVER been as hot as I was yesterday, during our chat with sir Adam I had this urge to just take all my clothes off!

It was there! The rack in the corner as you come into the shop on your right. It didn't have a price on it though.

Must have missed that - thanks. I did mean the cotton t-shirt and shorts outfits, is that what you saw?
