A mate of mine talks about the time when Sunderland got promoted to the Prem in the late '90s, how there was a spontaneous but incredibly moving rendition of 'In My Life' (''there are places I remember...'') by the AFCS fans. I guess you had to be there, but I can just about imagine it...

By a very odd quirk of fate I was there that night too. By an odd coincidence,too, for Southend United supporters, it was at Gigg Lane. I was the only one there with a Southend ski-hat on, though, which was most surprising. I didn't encounter AFCS supporters, mind, just Bury and SAFC. ;-) What I found most bizarre was that Lord David Puttnam was sitting in the row behind me.
 
Tuscans, Spartans, Athenians... all gay.

Trojans, that was where it was happening.

When I was there, Tuscany simply got bored of winning the ****-House Championship. It was getting tedious winning it every year. Tuscans aren;t arrogant, we're just genuinely better than the rest.
