Hi fellow shrimpers. My name is jon and i have been a blues fan for 27 years. Over the past few seasons i have been logging on to shrimperzone and reading the views and opinions of you guys. I have finaly decided to pluck up the courage and post a few thoughts myself.

1. Wiggy, do you ever attend games. Your views and marking of individual players is at times a farce and wrong. Flavs along with freddie was clearly one of the main reasons we gained promotion from league one, however, he was found out in a big way in the championship and indeed at the start of this season. Collis has done nothing wrong, yes he may have made the odd mistake, but keepers are prone to that and unfortunatley their mistakes often result in goals. However, he has made many outstanding saves and deserves his chance in the side.

2. The booing of players. Is completely inappropriate. I agre.e that at times we as fans can get very frustrated, that is part and parcel of supporting the blues. However, the treatment that certain players have suffered is bang out of order. matt harrold appears to be the main focus. He is not my favourite player and i think tilly got it wrong when he bought the guy, however, booing him in the way certain fans did at luton is awful. We win as a team and lose as a team, if you want to boo, boo the team as a whole not individual players.

3. Blues Voice. Where are you? I agree that at the oxford game, arguably was your best performance to date. But where were you at the cheltenham, luton, swindon and huddersfield games??? The atmosphere is poor at the hall. I have a season ticket in the east stand and can barely hear any noise from the south or west stands. By the same token, people say the east stand is quiet, I disagree, we do sing and are very vocal at times.

4. Tilly and brush. Have they had their time? Time will tell. I think that if we dont succeed this season they may well move on. At times tillys teams selection and tactics are woeful, luton in particular, and i wonder if at times his heart is in it. Before those of you shout me down and tell me all he has done for the club, there is no room in football for sentiment. Yes, he has bought in bailey, hammell, mccormack, leon etc but he has also made some poor signings, notably, harrold, hooper, painter, cole and let go a talent such as knightly. Morgan is another example. Tilson says he is a forward, his record suggests not. Morgan in the same report says he is a winger. why has macdonald not been given a chance, whilst hooper and harrold have. All questions i would love answered.

Anyway they are some points that spring to mind. Of couse some will agree and others disagree, they are just my views.

Up the shrimpers

Great post untill points 3 and 4, where you appear to lose the plot. If you are going to have opinions on players I suggest you learn how to spell their names.

O yes, welcome to the zone

A ridiculous comment to make, especially as Freddy Eastwood thought there was only d in Freddy and Scriv believed him. You don't have to be a carpenter to appreciate a well-made table

thanks for your welcome shrimper2thecore. clearly you are bored. this is a forum and therefore we all have right to our opinion. so i spelt a couple of names wrong, its hardly a disaster. my views were genuine and to say i have lost the plot is stupid. i have in some cases mirrored the points made by many on here and felt they were worthy of being expressed.

oh, yes and for the record. games attended 485, grounds visited 62. not bad for a clueless fan who cant spell!!!!

i do not think that the whole team was found out.
We had a handful of really good performances and a good period around christmas, but we did have a 17 game run without winning and then lost most of our last 8 games, thats the team not the keeper....

We conceded 80 goals, our team couldnt defend as a unit and we were ripped apart at certain times. You cant just blame one player for that, the whole back 5 were at fault and you an include the midfield too.

If the keeper was the main cause how come we put Clarke into the centre to try to make the midfield more solid ?

i am a big fan of flavs, i have signed gloves from our league winning season, but i really feel at the start of the season he conceded goals that collis wouldnt have, baring in mind extra height and reach. collis really hasnt done much wrong. of course any keeper thats makes a mistake will probably in most cases be punished, as we were on saturday. in saying that i dont think putting flavs in goal and dropping collis would in any way be right.

This extra reach of Collis doesnt seem to be helping him, we are still conceding goals in the 6 yard box and he made awful misses of the luton cross and the one against Blackpool. Two ofSwanseas goals this weekend was a cross to the 6 yard box.

Im not saying Collis should be dropped, just highlighting that all the "faults" that Flavs gets labelled for Collis isnt any better at.

Inflated expectations, no.

. why shouldny we believe that we desrve championship football. weve been there b4 and whether you are a big club or a small one as a fan you have to believe.

Theres a difference between thinking we have a chance and thinking we have a right to be there.

Yes we have been there before, we were out of our depth and came straight down only a couple of years after struggling in league two.

Yes we have a decent squad, but you have to take into account so do Leeds/Forest/Swansea and others.

Nothing wrong with believing we can go up, I certainly do via the playoffs, but when people start thinking that only promotion is acceptable for our club then theres something wrong and its going to lead (and already has) to a lot of bitterness on the terraces....

Think you're being a bit harsh on Collis for the Swansea goals. Having seen them earlier on BW - the cross for the 3rd came in quite quicky (minor deflection too?)at the corner of the 6 yard box that he wouldn't have been able to come out to in time - anyway it was hammell that lost his man for a moment and let him get the header in. As for the 1st goal - it was a high looping cross into the box - and looking at it again now he did kind of get stuck in no mans land on his line: gazing at the ball while staying at the near post instead of taking a few steps into the centre of the goal - but you would expect your defence again to be able to handle a looping cross of that height.
