H/T 1-1. I hoped for a good England performance of which I could be proud and I got one in that 45 minutes. As has been said, Foden has finally shown what he is capable of, and with a little help from Lady Luck we would be 2-1 by now. High hopes for the second half.

Nor was I. I even said it was 100% a penalty and couldn't believe the ref didn't give it.

As an aside, how many penalties are refused us, only to be given by VAR? If I recall, both against France in the last World Cup and even before that against Panama when everyone was being given penalties at corners when they were being manhandled, ours weren't given at all.

I was at the England 4 Holland 1 game at Euro 96 and that was the best game I've ever attended. Be happy with that again tonight!

To be honest, not much to counter with apart from maybe some more wide attacking intent? Palmer to come on perhaps?
