Yep. See Kelly isn’t setting it alight at the Wombles and perhaps we would still be looking to poach him back? Similar to a Walker type situation. Think he’d thrive under the amigos.

Correct. He was certainly someone spoken about internally. Phil Brown was someone who spoke highly of him.

Don’t think that was one we can blame on the embargo. One of the very few in recent seasons.

It's ironic because I kept throwing his name in the ring on here but kept getting told that the way the club was doing things was different, as they had a plan to get players 25 and under. Yet, we signed Moncur this season. There is definitely a change in direction like Stan alluded to. I wonder if Kev is happy with that change or if it's out of his hands.

The way the Club want to recruit is very much the under 25, so there is a resale value.

The likes of Moncur & Bonne, who don’t fit that category and purely “calculated risks” with what was available at the time.

Neither were the top target for their positions. As I’ve said, I’m not sure who the number 1 target was for the creative midfielder role, but it was Moncur. Had we signed any of Pearce, Tshimanga or McCullum, we wouldn’t have Bonne here.

That’s not to say we won’t ever sign an other 25 year old, if we are a “normal” club again. For example, Justham at Daggers was a top target for a while. We also wouldn’t rule out a 26 year old. 25 is just a bit of a guideline.
