Murray could line up for Blues at Wakering

Forget Hunt and sign him up a much safer bet 2 yr deal with options to extend for a 3rd if need be loan out to leauge 2. Would be snapped up.

If he's not here with the view to sign don't play him and especially don't let him take set pieces, let the players who are actually gonna be here work on them.

Not got a problem with him training with us in pre season but I think its a bit of a **** take to play. We're just letting ourselves be used.

He's here as a friend of McLaughlin as Southend are helping him keep fit for when he finds a club. Clubs do this for players nowadays. In this case, he really impressed at Great Wakering, and Phil wants another look. He's a free agent and could end up signing for Southend if he keeps on impressing.

Maybe McLaughlin should concentrate on getting himself fit rather than his mates. I struggle to see why we owe McLaughlin any favours

Pre season early on particularly players play 45 mins only. You need plenty of players as games also come close together- so players looking to get fit can be a win-win- especially in positions where we are short. We have 3 forwards at the moment so this makes sense. I would be concerned if he was CM. I am also pleased to see this year that rather than young trialists we are giving our own U21s a chance- a couple impressed on Sat and if they were trialists we would say have another look.

In the case of Murray he came to get fit and if recommended by a player then that is probably better then someone we don't know. As it turns out he did OK- and so we are told PB wants to have a closer look. This actually shows the benefit of the approach- had McLaughlin not recommended him and had we not taken him on such a win win neither party would have the opportunity to explore further.

He still pretty young and has L1 experience. Seems to know where the goal is. If we took him we still need another front man- Murray would be pretty cheap I suspect so maybe that frees up a little more for the other.

Ranger
Mooney
Williams
Plus 2 is where we need to get to I think

Did you get out of the bed on the wrong side this morning?

It would be nice to know how McLaughlin is progressing ....... and the sooner he is back the better.

As for Murray ............ well, I rather side with the others ........... like any good scout, we should all try to help others as we go about our daily lives - makes the world a much more friendly place to be in.

By the way his record is not easy to judge because he has made so many substitute appearances.
Best indicator we have is I think minutes per goal.

Career 271 minutes per goal
L1 278 minutes per goal

So 1 goal every 3 games. Not bad.
He was also in the Ipswich match day squad in the Championship on 24 occasions starting once and coming on as a substitute on 8 occasions.
So there is something there.
