Most ridiculous chant from Friday night....

on a more positive note the "Blue Army" chants werre excellent. A really positive chant that even those who sit on their hands and don't say a word can and do clap along to. Another chant that goes down well and wasn't heard on Friday was the "Up the football league we go" chant. These are the sort of chants that inspite the team. I'm afraid the reaction from people sitting near me (and myself) to the "Alex Revell" and "We're skint or ****" and "sack the board" chants was very negative.

In hindsight I think the "One Alex Revell" chant would have been simple and very effective if it had just been sung as the teams broke from shaking hands at the beginning of the match. I think more supporters around the stadium might have joined in with it too in a co-ordinated gesture of our displeasure. That way we would have made our point forcefully and the players would have known it too.

Sounded like sh*t from where I was but I suppose the two words sound similar. Maybe use 'broke' next time ;) The 'sack the board' chant was a bit extreme, and the 'town full of pikeys' chant from a team from Leytonstone is just ironic. I'd rather be a town full of pikeys than a town full of immigrants. Shouldn't complain too much though, generally a very good effort from TBV on Friday night. Completely outsung the Orient fans.

Well why not sing the direct opposite? Yeah, all those who thought it was very negative, you could of banded together and showed the board they have your support.

Or is that to difficult? Rather bang on about it on an internet forum eh?

We had every right to sing it. Just as you had every right to "keep the board"

There's a pikey camp just half a mile away from Birdbrain Rd.

My my, get out of bed on the wrong side?

Yes, you have every right to sing that, just as people have every right to criticise you. Why do you always have to be so aggressive?

TBH, i didn't think i was being aggresive, and no aggression was intended. Secondly, i don't appreciate random people having sly little digs at me as if they know me. (not you)

Also just stating a simple point. Instead of whinging about it on an internet forum, why not put the effort into showing the board you want them to stay, by singing their praises at the game?

For me there is absolutely no point in chanting negatively at a game, whether that is against the board, slagging players off or whatever. The idea to support the team on the pitch. After the game people can do what they want. The chanting would be much better if it could exclude all the nonsense. It was very patchy on Friday. I've praised the positive chants, suggested other songs and criticised those chants I thought were unnecessary.

thought TBV were very quiet on Friday. Certainly from where i was sitting i couldnt hear them...:D
Quiet?! We were anything but quiet! Our acoustics are complete and utter **** though so it doesnt suprise me if you was sitting at the other end of the stadium, my mate the other day when we were playing Millwall couldnt hear half the chants we were singing!

he was sitting at the oval!

Most ridiculous chant from Friday night, definately the chants against the board and the protests are not going to change anything, so you are wasting your breath in even bothering with them, so I would say that they were the most ridiculous imo.

I have full confidence in Ron Martin and his team that they are doing the best for the club. I do still think that King should have kept out of that article on the OS in regards to the Alex Revell, he isnt the best person to comment on such an article. Tbh, I still dont like him much, but I dont think that it sparks a protest tbh.

So definately the anti-board and protest chants were ridiculous imo.

I think the board are doing the best they can; of course we would like some permanent signings, but you can't blame Martin if he has no further funds. He has kept the club going and we must try to stay relatively solvent.Neither am I defending G King in particular, I don't know him and as far as I am concerned he is a business administrator simply employed by the club/Ron.I think on balance it would have been better for him to have kept any personal view to himeself re Revell, but in simple terms he WAS right!..He has failed to live up to expectations hasn't he?..What I find hypocritical and brainless is that the self same player can be criticised by us, the paying supporters, so where's the difference in someone else just stateing an opinion? In a wider sense we have all been lulled into a false state these days where it is non PC to sound any level of criticism of anyone...Ask yourself; did Revell live up to expectations,?as that was the criticism levelled so far as I understand it.

LoL...... Excellent, well in that case, you have just restored my faith in our fans.... and have lost my faith in my ability to hear!! APOLOGIES to everyone singing that then, my fault entirely - Looks like I have the award for most embarrassing post for 2009 already!!

Sorry peeps!

Must admit when I heard it a couple of games back and again Friday, I thought they were saying ''sh*t'' too, so its also made my day to be corrected.

singing 'theres only one alex revell' about 5 minutes after barnard scored i thought was pretty dim
