Most famous person

For me, it's almost certainly Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who karked it on my birthday in 1791 - although he has some stiff competition from Claude Monet (d. 5 Dec 1926) and Shoeless Joe Jackson (d. 5 Dec 1951).

Matt

April 27th 2002 - Ruth Handler, the lady famous for marketting barbie dolls.

Births include Walter Pandiani

Robert Burns (the Scottish poet) died on mine, and births wise I have the honour of:

Alexander the Great
Robin Williams (the actor)
Brian Talbot
Josh Hartnett of Pearl Harbour fame (Oh dear...)
Titus Bramble

Make of that what you will.

February 8th is my Birthday.

No one of great note has died on this day, other than Mary Queen Of Scots was executed (1587).

I share my Birthday with, Ulises de la Cruz, Hristo Stoichkov, Gary Coleman from Different Strokes, Seth Green, Nick Nolte, James Dean (what a legend!), Jack Lemmon, John Grisham, and Jules Verne, to name but a few.

Also on this day,

1924 - Death penalty: The first state execution using gas in the United States takes place in Nevada.

Actually mine are really interesting....

August 16th

Elvis Pressley
Idi Amin
and Bunsen from the Muppets!

Mozart would probably be the most famous person born on my birthday (January 27th).

As for the most famous person to die on my birthday, probably Andre the Giant.

Even better, as far as events go:

1582 - Pope Gregory XIII announces the Gregorian calendar (the current calendar we all use).

February 24 is the 55th day of the year in the Gregorian Calendar. There are 310 days remaining, 311 in leap years. By Roman custom February 24 is the day added to a leap year, and the occurrence of February 29 is merely a consequence of this.

On the Actual day I was born the Iraq revolution began ( the monarchy is overthrown by Arab nationalists and Abdul Karim Kassem becomes the nation's new leader.)

Others

The Storming of the Bastille 1789

Emmiline Pankhurst was born 1857
So was
William Hanna (of Hanna Barbara cartoons) 1910
Geraint Jones 1976

Deaths
Billy The Kid 1881
Dick Mcdonald  (Founder of mcDonalds) 1998

Nobody particularly famous popped their clogs on my birthday (December 7th) - it is however Pearl Harbour day.

I do however share my birthday with none other than Nicole Appleton, John Terry, Marie Tussaud (museum proprietor and waxwork modeller), Mike Nolan (from Bucks Fizz (!)) and, most importantly, Chasey Lain (!).
