Just got a message from Bolton Shrimper;
said it was never a free kick that lead to the goal, and he thought the guy put it in with his hand.

Doesn't detract from one goal in three games though does it? Even that was a shot fumbled by a goalkeeper, hardly constructed through the midfield.

Horrible performance. Totally devoid of ideas. Players put the effort in but to many had shockers. Players looked in disbelief at the final whistle. Worst performance I have seen for some time.

What is going on? How can we go from a 17 match unbeaten run and strengthen the squad to a team that looks like relegation fodder? Never seen such a drastic transformation. At times it reminded me of the end of Tilly's era when players were not being paid..........?:omg:

Morecambe fans coming out were saying they thought they were bad and how the hell had we been top......!

Talking of Sawyer, when's he going to be back?

More Twitter gossip from Chris Phillips. Apparently Mohsni stormed down the tunnel when subbed, didn't shake Benyon's hand and offered a Morecambe fan a fight. And MARK Phillips has tweeted that he's on "suicide watch" right now. Sturrock kept them in the dressing room for a long time after the match, and it doesn't sound like a happy dressing room...

Sorry but Sawyer as with David Martin are not in Sturrocks plans as they both can't wait to drive forward. This is the most overated manager around as he has got a good name but bores the supporters into submission. The great position that we were in and he still can't pepper the goal, and i did actually like him until he sent me to sleep for me 20 quid every week.

Woops wrong quote, but you know what i mean!

Another tweet from CP:

Morecambe goalscorer jordan burrow - "we played better and deserved win. All southend did when they got the ball was hoof it forward."

Embarassing when an opposition player is saying that.

haha....now that says it all!

For once i agree with wiggy. Paul sturrocks style of football is methodical predictable boring and now not working anymore. With the squad we have we should be doing a lot more. Maybe sturrock has run out of ideas

Sturrock doesn't know what his best team is. Too many changes both of players and ststems. Would imagine the players haven't a clue what is going on. How many system changes today ? Only listened today and for a while in the 1st half it sounded like the players didn't have a clue what they were supposed to be doing. With the players we have, not a chance of playing too much football.

Although it pains me to say I think Sturrock has taken this group of players as far ashe can. Signings made in January have been generally ineffective, when heaven and earth should have been moved to retain the services of Daniels.

Not a lot of point changing the manager now, think we are stuck with what we have and hope that things improve.

Ricky Duncan doesn't want the aggravation of the Senior job. He is happy at what he currently does with the youngsters.

Today we witnessed a team that is clearly broken. The manager has lost the dressing rooms. The players were squabbling at the end. Mohsni stormed down the tunnel after being subbed. We managed one effort on goal, one corner. This against a very, very ordinary Morecambe side. There was no passion. No idea. It seems we are now unable to create anything. Players look scared on the ball and bereft of ideas. I am struggling to recall anytime when we sought to do anything but hoof it down the pitch, we never got the ball out wide to Hall. We never looked like scoring a goal. Centre forward's role seems to be to head onto on coming midfielders who aren't there. Its been like this for weeks. I am told it was slightly better than Aldershot, so Gawd knows what you guys witnessed there, because there was terrible. The best bit of football I witnessed all day was the U11s game at half time. For the first time in many a year I asked myself "why am I here?"

We have too many players that Sturrock does not know what to do with. Dickinson has had more partners this season than Katie Price. We have no one providing any service. A keeper that looks shot. A midfield that doesn't play as a unit - mainly because the ball is always somewhere over their heads. A defence that is always on the move because we can't keep the ball.

I wouldn't be so depressed if this was a poor set of players, but its not. Either the players need a new manager or the manager needs a new set of players who know how to play to his tactics.

Some marks

Morris - 6. One calamity moment in the first half. Probably should have done better with the goal
Clohessy - 6. Quiet, but not faulting his effort. Looked distraught at the end
Prosser - 5. No better than Gilbert.
Phillips -6. Did what he needed to.
Barker - 6. As above
Kalala - not on long enough
Timlin - 5. Quiet, ineffective, passed by
Hall - 5. Really not in the game, we rarely looked to use him
Mohsni - 4. Anonymous and the worst performance Ive seen from him
Dickinson - 6. Run his nuts off as usual, but chasing lost causes
Sampson - 5. Same as above. Must wonder what he is doing here

Sub
Grant - 8. Best Shrimper on the pitch by a country mile.
Benyon - 4. Came on, ran around, didn't get the ball
Martin - 5. One or two runs, but like Hall, massively under utilised.

Game itself was dreadful, Morecambe are a poor, poor side who we would have stomped over a few months ago.

Long, miserable day and I am going to bed to sulk it off.

Just seen the 'highlights' on the football league show. Somebody please tell me that that floating wafting header from Bilel that looped down on to the top of the crossbar wasn't our best effort on goal? Surely not? Although judging by what happened at Aldershot...maybe it was? Oh, and it looked like Morris chucked the ball into the net for the Shrimps goal. Top show Blues, top show.

Football League Show and Claridge says there must be a lack of harmony between players, manager and Chairman and suggests they all sit down and sort it out.

Yeh --- O.K.

How about rather than sit down and sort it out, the manager and players try keeping it down and sorting it out? ..........I just plant seeds, maybe some will take oneday?

Thats a shame , I feel he could of done well. Wanted him after Tilly had been put on gardening leave.
So for me that leaves King Kevin, who I could see doing a good job here. At least he played the ball on the ground and has a footballing brain. He is also loved by MOST at the Hall.

Because P.S. say's the only way out of this League is to HOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF it, sorry, play direct football. Well just look at Stoke City and their in the Premiership blah blah blah. We only got beaten today because the pitch was bad and it was windy. ERRRRHHHH ? I feel we got beaten because the only tactic we play is hoofball and its been sussed out. Grrrrrrr In 45 years of going to Roots Hall I dont think I have ever been so fed up. Not about supporting my club, its just all thats going on. On the pitch and off. Please remember even when we were top, were we actually good, or as IMO were very very lucky. Away from home I have not been able to afford to go this season and from reports the system P.S. plays has been fairly succesfull. But at home the results show its not only been terible to watch but unsuccesfull too. at the min, we are 3rd, but have played more games than most of the teams above and just below us. If these results carry on i feel we will be lucky to make the playoffs. Even if we do, wot chance do we have, playing the way we are? We must go all out for at least the third spot or i feel we will still be in this League next season IS THAT WOT YOU WANT ? The time for change is now Either P.S. has to mix up his tactics, or P.S. has to go! UTB

Plus a shot from Hall from 20 yards straight at the keeper and don't forget the 1 corner!
