Breaking News More goss from the EOS BALL

Pathetic that the Chairman of the club is not at a function like this where he has a genuine opportunity to "press the flesh" with the fans. Very high profile official club event and you would have thought that he would have definately wanted to at least be seen to be in attendance on the night.

Didn't miss the opportunity to be seen at the Chelsea replay, complete with scarf milking applause & wandering around before the game however did he?

I assume that in making this statement you know the reason for Ron not being there?

Using your own logic, as you said he should have been there, and as he likes to 'milk applause' as you put it then it would seem obvious that he would want to be there.

It therefore seems reasonable to assume that there was a very good reason he wasn't there. A reason that doesn't fall into the category of 'pathetic'.

i spoke to clarke himself and he said to me the offer hasnt been there and he is set to speak to the chairman very soon but looks to stay if the offer is right

This is what has been said all season though to be honest.

Clarkey stated earlier on in the season he wanted to concentrate on his football and make a decision in the summer which is basically seeing what league we will be in, and what offers are about.

I imagine Clarkey would stay if we offered him a 2/3 year deal on the same terms as his current contract, but we signed him on Championship wages. I have no doubt the Club would be happy for him to stay for 2/3 years, but would like to get him on League One wages as we are a League One Club.

Something in there needs to budge be it the Club upping their offer or Clarkey reducing what he wants.

Just spoken to a friend who went to the ball and sat with tilly and brush and their partners (yes she did liberate a couple of goldfish as well, Tilly told her to take em) anyway i digress..... She spoke to Tily and gave her her opinion on how he should have got through the season !!! Still i'm not sure if this is just Tilly fan talk or not but he's 90% sure that Clarke will be on his way, wants to go back north.....BUT on the plus side apparently Theo Robinson is really good mates with Grant and he's been working on Theo and he'd like to stay, the only issue is that his agent might demand too much..... also that Dervitte is really happy here and would like to make the move permanent and Uncle Ron is discussing this with Spurs to see it he can do the deal..... So possibly we could lose clarke but gain theo and dorrian that'd certainly do for me !

all in all wouldn't be a bad summers work!

I think we have to accept that Clarkey is gone. He knows he's on for a move back north, a step up a division, better wages and a fat signing on fee as he's on a free - we can't compete with that and shouldn't break the bank on a player that didn't really cut the mustard in the Championship last time around.

Agreed, I would take that now. That and either Herd becoming left back and getting us a decent backup, or bringing in Harding too.

I drool at the prospect of a defensive line of Sanks Dervitte Barrett Harding. Sanks not quite at the same level but he's reliable.
