MK's Grand National pick

For those secret Orientphiles amongst you, Darkness is owned by Lloyd-Webber.

As it goes MK, I've had a nod from Stan's yard, and they're expecting a much bigger performance from it than the bookies suggest.

Stokes' own personal fancy? The hitherto unmentioned Kilbeggan Blade. Right age, weight and price for a considered flutter. Southern Vic should have a strong run too.

Gets the trip too; a good win at Sandown in December over 3m 5f boded well. I may have an each-way tickle on him.

I've had the preview programme on in the background. The said some horse beginning with a K had a chance of getting into the places, it was 66/1 and won't be that price in the morning.

They were wetting themselves, though, over a horse that began with an S that's at the moment 50/1. Said it's bound to be at best 33's in the morning, and will continue to drop during the day. It's a serious each-way bet. It might've begun with a B actually come to think of it. Anyways, they said get your money on right now.

You read it here first. Lump your money on either or both of them.

Just had my bets:

Kilbeggan Blade - 25/1 e/w with Coral
Rambling Monster - 11/1 with William Hill

Had hoped to back the latter at 12/1 with Boyles, especially as they are betting e/w the first SIX places, but the price had gone - 9/1 already.

Hope you all enjoy your winnings after putting your savings on my each-way certainty. Only 14/1 SP though if you didn't get on early enough.

Interesting to note that the winner finished 10th last year and was a short price for the Welsh National. It seems barely believable that any horse that had at the very least a good chance of getting round was 100/1. I bet a few shrewd observers are celebrating along with the bookies.
