Minutes silence on sat

I thought it was impeccably served.

Is it now club policy for every fan who dies to get a minute's silence?

Was very good of the Swimdon fans and players to respect the minutes silence to, so hats off to them.

The girl who died was 18 and a fan. Her mother and mother's partner were both stewards. She was a lovely girl who had been ill for a very long time.

Full credit to the Swindon supporters who I saw rising to their feet before a lot of our own, there was a bit of silliness in odd places but on the whole well observed. I thought they actually said the girl herself was a steward, but whatever, at 18, and suffering from a terminal illness I have absolutely no problem with the club showing their compassion in this way and asking for the fans' support.

She suffered from Cystic Fibrosis, which is an illness quite close to my heart as one of my best mates is a sufferer. He was told he wouldn't live past the age of 21 now he is 27 thanks to modern medicine. He has to take millions of tablets every day, he is only a mild sufferer.

My girlfriends family once taught her I believe and lived down her road. They attended the funeral (the whole street is very close) and said it was a very nice but sad farewell.

They mentioned that a fair few SUFC players were there too, and Tilly, looking very dapper

I went to primary school with Sarah. Always a nice girl, shy and quiet. Suffered from her illness her whole life. And in recent weeks I had seen her around looking very ill.

My thoughts with her family and a nice jesture by the club.

the silence was deafening. made the hair's on the back of my neck stand up. there were kids in the south lower who started laughing which i thought was disgusting. surely the parents can control them? they may be kids but i know my kids would never dare do it. too much respect.

Thought it was very well observed by supporters of both teams. Very moving indeed.

I think any noise was in the main prompted by people giggling at mobile phones going off at the time.

However, that should not detract from what was a excellent mark of respect by all who were there.

Surely every death is tragic?

No, death is inevitable. My Dad was 86 and, having had a stroke in his 40's and ill-health thereafter we were blessed that he lived that long and that he passed peacefully, and though obviously we miss him, in no way was his death tragic. To die at 18 from cystic fybrosis is completely different and may fairly be called tragic.
