Mighty Shrimper's £1,000 Challenge

I had £35 on Liverpool / Bolton double last night, paid odds of 5/8. I was sweating the Bolton result for a bit though!! Wish I had not bottled my original bet though which was the above 2 plus Middlesbrough at 2/1!!

If it makes you feel better my first bet of the season I had a stake of £5.00 which returned £982.66 so I was very happy on the way back home from Accey Standley

Sorry for the late update on my Challenge, it's been a very busy week.

For my first bet of the weekend, i've had to move quickly because the odd's will either go down sharply or suspend altogether.

Saturday 3rd September 2001

Burton v Plymouth - Home Win

Bet: Single - Odds: 5/6 - Stake: £57

I've gone for the full 50% on this one due to the stories coming out today about the Plymouth team at the weekend:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14749794.stm

Plymouth have already started very badly this season and look a team in serious turmoil. When you add the above news in that link, I really can't see this bet losing. I'd advise anybody to get on this one asap!

Yep, they have decided to play after being paid 40% of the months wages. Im still very confident in the bet. I was confident Burton would win before the potential strike. The plymouth players must have had little or no match prep for this game all week and with the situation, they can't be in the right frame of mind for a match away at Burton. When our players werent being paid, they didnt perform at all.

I've lumped on Burton too, that should guarantee a Plymouth win. :dunce:

Good luck with your bets mighty, i'll be keeping my eyes peeled at this thread... Bet wise ive giving up on win, lose, draw markets but now concentrate on both teams to score. Usually do trebles or fourfolds and my returns range from £12 to £50 quid most weekends..

Good luck

Thanks watcha1. I've been looking into the both teams to score market over the last few days. I can't seem to find a real pattern to that market at the moment but it's something i'm keeping my eyes on. Will do an update on my current standings tomorrow. Looking foward to the weekends games, quite afew games that are jumping out at me already.
