Michael Mifsud

Shall we ask HMRC Bank to help with his wages?

Lovely idea as, in his prime, he was a very good player. Seriously doubt he'd sign though, unless he's happy on £25p/w and a box of Fondant Fancies...

Mate of mine's a Cov fan and after he scored against United he caught whatever starry eyed disease Eastwood had towards the end of his time with us. He might well have been humbled by the complete lack of interest in him as a free agent and need a stable source of income, mind...

just like beckford in the league every game after the cup - staleeeee

Just say we did invite him for a trial reserve game. Would he even get the ball? The reserves are schoolboys out their depth. It would hardly be fair on anyone.

Well he won't get that at SUFC that's for sure !

Was very highly rated a few years back and there was talk of a big money move not too long ago.

Really shocked no-one has taken a punt on him as yet.

Come on Tilly, you know it makes sense. Is an experienced striker, and certainly knows where the back of the net is...

Tilly says in the Echo today that he still wants an experienced striker......

In a normal world, a contract till the end of the season would seem like perfect sense to everyone involved. But as we all know, we don't seem to live in a normal world.

I'd be hassling the club if I were you though, OS. You could act as his agent. ;)

A similiar deal to that of Spencer prehaps? Deal to the end of the season with the option of it being extended.

That would suit all parties. He gets a Club and a chance to play football again which will help his international prospects, plus he will also get an income and we get a striker that has the potential to fire us up the table.

It all makes sense to give him a go, but we all know I've got more chance of being shagged senseless by Kylie than SUFC having the balls to sign somebody like Mifsud!

The trouble is Mifsud won't want minimum wage to play for us & will end up playing for a footballing giant like Yeovil, Borient or Walsall!

Come on Ron, grow some & sign some proper footballers with a proven track record that isn't 5 seasons ago!

Surely earning say, £500 a week, is better than earning nothing.

Just look at Pericard. Doubt he was on much at Carlisle but a good run of form and he gets a switch to Swindon where he will pick up bigger wages.
Same could be said of Mifsud. He could take on the job, score 7-10 goals before the season is out, then get himself a move to a Championship side.

Without a doubt! I was being a little sarcastic with the wages bit, but knowing the history of the last few Tilly/RM signings, he is only looking at Pound Shop players.

Even if RM allowed £25K of the Barny money on players or wages for freebies like Mifsud, it could be money well spent in stopping us plummet to Div 2.

I see Jamie Cureton's gone on loan to Shrewsbury for the rest of the season today. Was he the "experienced striker" Tilson was after?

Probably! Shrewsbury aren't a lot better off than us financially, but their directors can see the sense in increasing their firepower for an automatic promotion place or at least a play off place. We need to pull away from danger quickly or we might be in the bottom four in two weeks time!
