Metal Monday Pt.16

SUFC_Al

Metal Monday Dude
One of the first heavy metal acts I listened way back 16 years ago. They have been extremely influential to me playing guitar, their music taught me a hell of a lot.

Unfortunately they have turned for worse and I've lost all interest in what used to be my favourite band but I will always be grateful for masterpieces like this. One of the best music videos ever.

Metallica

Class tune!

I remember when we saw Metallice live at Donington '95 this song made the hairs stand on the back of my neck!!

Its stange how the video has the talking in it when the album version doesn't! I prefer the guns and explosions myself!

Course it's metal Pubey! Metal that this Indie kid would actually listen to (which is more than I can say for some of the other Metal Mondays!)

that day at Donington was something else wasn't it?

I think it was the video director who suggested having the film script over it, music videos rarely went over 4 or 4 and a half minutes so they added the film script to 'fill in' the instrumental sections.

just sounds like good old rock and roll to me! metallica always bridged that divide from thrash metal and grandiose rock... One is probably the best example of that

So Lars....... steak meal? About that Napster lawsuit.....

lol Lars Ulrich is one of the biggest to55ers you'll ever meet. Arrogant doesn't even begin to describe the little thwaite. No wonder Hetfield was an alcoholic, trying to handle Ulrich sober must be impossible!

I love the fact they sued their fans. Muppets.

yeah that wasn't the smartest thing they did... although St Anger is a criminally underrated album. i think that really suffered at the same time as the Napster stuff... they could have really progressed but now it's not really happened for them

Ok I get your point, but One is too heavy to be classed as Rock and Roll especially the end of the song!

you're right in your assessment of bridging thrash and "stadium rock" but the double-tripleted middle section is about as heavy as you can get, not mention the tapping guitar solo :D
