Zone Update Message from Alan McCormack

It's great to have Macca back. It's like having a new signing. I'm not convinced how/where he fits in right now with Christophe and Sawyer playing as well as they are, but he's a quality player and will no doubt be back in the first XI sooner rather than later.

Fantastic to see Macca back on Friday, and he was one of the first players over when it kicked off in front of the West.

Welcome back Macca.

and he was one of the first players over when it kicked off in front of the West.

that reminds me, did anyone else see freedman grab there player by the neck?

also thought grant was lucky to stay on after what looked like he kicked after he was fouled. didn't even get a yellow if i remember rightly.

I was applauding Sawyer coming off as he had a great game...

Though its great to see Ally Mac back for us. Very important member of the team and has been missed at times

Great to see him back, you know he's a class above. He's lower championship quality for me, really puts himself about and drags the team forward.

How is he a Legend? Very important player for us - yes. Legend? Not at all.

I think it's his attitude that particularly endears him towards the fans. He wears his heart on his sleeve and never goes missing in a match, unlike a certain ginger **** who played here last season. :finger:

To be fair, he quite often goes missing in matches but we have to accept that's what two yellow cards does for you.

I believe that any player who acknowledges my existence is a legend.

This includes Mark Warren who caught me going through his bin bags and threatened to call the police.

I believe that any player who acknowledges my existence is a legend and deserves a place amongst the pantheon of greats.

Included amongst my personal firmament of stars is Mark Warren despite him threatening to call the police when he caught me going through his bin and then subsequently bursting into tears when I fronted him out and offered to call him an ambulance.

Bailey never went missing in a match and is a far better player than Macca. Your post is rubbish. Tillys big mistake now, will be trying to fit him into a team where the current central midfielders as better than him.

Thanks. I'm not stating that I think Macca is the best player in a team, nor that he is better than Bailey - he is not.

In my opinion though (and that of many others on the board at the time), he did go missing during our playoff matches, albeit amidst a cr@p team performance and it was the consensus of my non-Southend supporting mates that he didn't seem to give a sh!t. I agree that the other midfielders are going (and should!) to be hard for him to shift out of the team but what will happen if/when they go back to their parent clubs? Macca will certainly be nice to have then!

PS. My point about Bailey was probably more my bitterness at his departure than anything! :p

good post, fair points, reasonable explanations.

And why are we discussing NB on here? This is about Macca, you know, the one that showed us loyalty and always gives 100%, not the other one, and any response you may wish to add to his message.
