Mercury Music Prize Nominations

Quote[/b] (glasgowsufc @ July 19 2005,22:23)]I can't fault those sentiments!
I'm still enjoying the album & each time I listen to it I think that my only downside of it is it's too short & then I realise I've just lost 40 mins of my life (this is in a good way, by the way!!!)
Thank you Mr Jock.
I got sent Editors album today (by Editors actually, with lots of rude pictures drawn on paper as an aside...)
It's good. With very good artwork.
You'll be air drumming in no time.

Magic Numbers all the way for me personally. Having said that there does seem to be a bit of a Britpop revival going on at the moment (in the last couple of days walking around shops at lunchtime I've heard Boo Radleys, Dodgy and Wonder Stuff being played - and I'm in Walthamstow not Camden!) and Kaiser Chiefs fall right into that category so it could be them.

Bloc Party however are very much a 'Mercury Music Prize' act so if I was a betting man my money would be on them.

I agree, if I had to bet on someone to win it I'd go for Bloc Party or Kaiser Chiefs, Coldplay are too big to win this prize. I like the Bloc Party album, especially like the new song 'Pioneers', but I've got the Hard-Fi album and it's excellent. They'd be my choice. Haven't got the Maximo Park album yet, I want to get it this week along with the new Editors album.
