McQueen thrilled to join Blues on loan

Visiting Roots Hall for the first time this Saturday. Any tips on where to find a place to park (car not motorbike) within walking distance. Will be arriving about 2:45!!!

That late prior to KO park in Earls Hall Avenue and then follow the main Victoria Avenue to the ground. You must be Sam's Dad!

He could have also said,

I have limited football experience but will feature in every Southend game until the season ends,I beg SZ not to be nasty even if it appears I have little interest in the matches whilst playing terribly yet still having lots and lots of pitch time,my club Saints have told SUFC play me or pay me.

Only jesting of course:winking:

they didn't tell us anything, its written into the contract surely

As AndyT says 2:45 is way to late. Traffic on the A127 is bad enough and will be worse with a lot of Cov coming down so arrive early. You can admire the delightful architecture in the immediate vicinity of RH, there's an interesting pram shop opposite the main entrance if you need to kill 30minutes.

If that's not your bag try the Spread Eagle if your not here on some 'official' capacity. Do you have tickets yet?

I believe they do prams and child booster seats also to boot!!.. (as in also), please dont place children in the boot... not with the amount of speed humps we have around here in Essex.

I do hope he has a ticket as i heard read a while back on the Coventry City Twitter, thats its expected to be a sell out away allocation game, and a ticket only affair on the day. Mind you, I could be wrong.. I usualy am :nope:

I've Just seen, tickets for Coventry supporters are now off sale, around 1,800 sold as of 12 noon, fans can still buy and collect up to 3pm today, after that its down to SUFC, to see if they will sell more on the day of the match.

Nice to know, they are bringing a decent following to Roots Hall, a very good effort in my opinion, considering the distance and the fact that Division one, is mainly a midland / northern league. All credit to them... I Doubt our 6 fingured inbreds from Colchester will be able to match it.

Nockydoodah is a Southampton fan, coming to watch McQueen. So will probably want to sit with Southend fans as McQueen is playing for us.

Thats a relief... I thought the convo went a tad of topic!!... anyway did you pre-warn him about the "you know what"... (COUGH)... wink.. wink.. nudge..nudge.. the whole lack of onion thing??

Did you make it down, Nocky?

Shame McQueen didn't get a game, but would be interested to hear your thoughts on the match, as a neutral.

... Agreed, but not enough to be assessed by the Nockster.

In fact, I'm not even sure he touched the ball.

When he came on he had to just be another defender and put his body in the way and try and win the ball back. So we never had a chance to see his style or what he is about. We'll get to see him better when it's not backs to the wall.

Barring Hunt, he was the most advanced player at any point for the time he was on the pitch. Agree we didn't see what he can do, but the fact he got in advanced positions given the circumstances is a good sign

Funny how we see it differently. I was in the East today and he was right in front of me most of the time about 3 yards in front of the corner of the penalty area. He did O.K. blocking the opposition.

Yes he did defend and was there a lot like you say...but when we broke, McQueen got into an advanced position. Bodes well I think
