McCormack two-match ban

According to the BBC....."Southend midfielder Nicky Bailey is available following suspension but Alan McCormack serves a one-match ban."

bailey was only ever out for one game as he picked up two yellows not a straight red, also about tillys interview he said he couldn't ask anymore from the lads. what that was about i havn't got a clue. and didn't think it was right to just blame the refm maybe some blame should be passed onto the players.

I think part of the problem is now we're top of the Disciplinary League is that the officials have a pre-determined view of us being a dirty team before they show up. Then at the first sign of a dodgy challenge they pull out the cards to try & calm the team down. (OK I only saw it on the Sky footage) but neither Bailey's or Macca's yellows for strong challenges looked like definite bookings.

But if Bailey and McCormack hadn't good into the referee's bad-books (literally) earlier in those matches then the second incidents don't cost us.

My son predicted that before the game -

I'm always sceptical of players who manage to get suspended for the festive period. Make them turn up and train on Christmas day and Boxing Day like the rest of them.

I was particularly pleased to see that. If any player thinks they can earn themselves a short break by getting suspended they can think again. Well done T&B.
