McCormack two-match ban

i heard someone say yesterday that that was his 10th yellow card which is a one match ban and then one for the red..

thats how i worked it out..

or has tilly put this foot down?

I guess a two match ban for 10 yellows overrules a 1 match ban for a red.

No, its added on. He's probably been given a 2 match ban for it being his 2nd red card for 2 bookable offences!

Hopefully Tilly will have fined him two weeks wages for being a ****! Its about time he learnt to let his football do the talking! Both bookings were avoidable. He's played enough football at this level to realise that most of the refs we get are useless. So get over it Macca! :thump:

all these bookings for silly things are really get out of hand now. i've been told we've got the worst record in the league now. player should now be punished for this as they are letting the fans and their team down. not just macca but others aswell.

I think.... the reds don't count as yellows, if that makes sense. So officially McCormack has seven yellows and two reds when in reality he's been shown an extra four yellow cards this season. I think he served his first suspension for the accumulation of yellow cards after his booking at Northampton which was his 5th yellow of the season if the ones against Orient didn't count.

I'm confused.

Essentially, he's banned for two matches now for his second red of the season and he's still on seven yellow cards so will be due a further two match ban when (not if) he gets three more yellow cards.

We had the worst disciplinary record before the game. God knows what it looks like now.

EDIT: Only Leeds have picked up more yellows than us. With our five sendings off, we're one sending off clear of anyone else. On a personal level, McCormack has managed to pick up 9 yellows and 2 reds (officially) having only committed 33 fouls. I guess his next yellow will be a suspension for two matches and frankly, the FA are fully justified in this because ten bookings before the new year is appalling. I wonder if Vinny Samways was his idol growing up.

I don't think it helps that Tilly comes out every week and blames the Officials for every point that we drop. There's nothing wrong with creating a seige mentality that everyone is against us but it seems that every time a poor decision goes against us (which happens a lot at this level) our players start screaming to the ref about the injustice of it all.

It was bad enough when Maher was getting seven or eight yellow cards a season for dissent but it's much worse now we've got McCormack & Bailey following suit because with their style of play they are going to pick up cards along the way anyway and we can't afford to go down to ten men a dozen times a season.

I agree to an extent but then again I can understand Tilly's frustration. Having now seen Macca's challenge for the second booking on BluesWorld it really doesn't look worthy of a yellow to me, and he was unlucky to be sent off on the opening day, too.

Ultimately, the whole situation is frustrating and worrying because I don't consider us to be a dirty side in the slightest, but obviously referees will be aware of the stats and that could continue to count against us if they turn up with pre-conceived ideas of what we're like.

To try once more to clarify, I think the first yellow awarded counts in your yellow card count and the second counts as a red.

McCormack's been booked in 7 games in which he hasn't been sent off

Agree with that 100% Beefy . Tilly's radio interview on Saturday was so bad it made me cringe . Wasn't going to say anything about it but this debate changed my mind . I thought and think that it is about time someone else from the club takes these BBC Essex interviews on - because if they don't Tilly is going to get into hot water soon , he just gets sucked in so easily . Oh and BBC Essex might like to explain what they feel they gain out of making our manager sound like a right pratt .
