Mayor of London call, Sunday.

Thanks Stan ,i cant attend but so happy you have once again come to our aide ,you are and always will be a legend of our club and im so happy COSU have made you a guest of the club, without you i doubt there would be a club now let alone another visit to Wembley . God bless you always .

Thank you Stan Collymore. Just saying your name brings a rush of great memories. We know the vital role you played in saving our club - like a lifeboat unexpectedly arriving as we were drowning. And still helping us.

Once a Shrimper, always a Shrimper.

Thank you @StanCollymore

Once again, you come in to do the right thing by us, and, once again, we are indebted to you for your judicious use of your contacts, influence and reach.

I'd still love to know what I, personally, have done for you to block me on Twitter/X. After all, you called me and messaged me for information and help. I don't think I have ever done anything that would warrant a block, but would be happy to discuss if I've done something to offend.

For Shrimpers and Latics.

I've just spoken to the Mayor of London's Office with his acquiescence.

I set out the unique potential issue around huge numbers of Southend supporters potentially having to travel from greater London to Southend to get back into London for the game. By admission this was a welcome and new piece of information for them to consider. Likewise Oldham supporters who don't live in Oldham.

Wembley Stadium ultimately make the decision about capacity but the Office of Mayor in the next safety meeting on Tuesday are hopeful that my arguments for both clubs supporters to have "at least" a 60,000 support ceiling has safety first, and accommodation of both clubs needs met. Without promising he said he was "hopeful" we can acheive a positive outcome.

I'm due to speak to the Mayor after the safety meeting on Tuesday where hopefully the minute details of the particular issues both clubs have will have been discussed.

I'm not working on behalf of either club but I know I've sown the seeds of issues not previously known or aired which are supporter safety and convenience oriented over and above simple numbers in attendance but which highlight the need for fairness and representation of both sets of supporters on a special day.

Let's see what Tuesday brings.

Stan.

Its Tuesday

I Wonder if more Tickets will come available today ?

Well done Stan
We have a large following who live “up north”.
Would they go all the way down to Southend, then to Wembley, back to Southend then back up north- or just get Oldham tickets in their general sale…
The law of unintended consequence is always overlooked…

Coaches from Luton and Cambridge or even closer to the M25 would solve this.

Tom said this morning on BBC Essex (along with Justin) that various meetings are happening today.

He's hoping in an ideal world they can get capacity pushed up to 55,000 plus coach packages. So I presume that would be comfortably over 60,000 in total, which to be fair would be a decent number all told.

Let's hope the various meetings today go well and an increased allocation will be heading our way in the next 24hrs or so...

I'm doing just that, game coach train plus return. At a cost of 250 pound. I live in Newcastle but have supported Southend since mid 50s. I'm 80 next birthday and live of my pension. At my age this is very doubtful this will ever happen again in my lifetime, so I got to go.

I wonder if TFL have any spare buses? C2C to London or the outskirts then London buses round to Wembley! I’m clutching at straws but…
