Matt Harrold

People forget that Matt Harrold scored 23 goals for us in that glorious season where we narrowly missed out on getting promoted to the premier league back in 06/07. Him and Bradbury were electric up front that season and its only the fact that Bradbury scored 42 and won European Player of the Year that stops people giving credit to "King Harrold". The memory that will live for me from that season though is when Kevin Maher scored a hat-trick live on sky versus Queens Park Rangers and pulled a mooney in front of the East Stand as payback for the sh*t they gave him back in 98 when he first joined. Sometimes I get confused between what happened and what I wish happened...

Well, I rather wish your version had!

Harrold gets a move to league one and Paynter ends up in league two? How does that work?

Why? decent enough player despite what some knuckleheads say about him on here.

The last couple of times I have seen him he looks to have improved with experience.

My surprise was due to the fact that he has gone up to Division 3 when he has been playing in Division 4 for the last few seasons ...... and was facing football in the Conference if he had stayed with Bristol Rovers. A good move for Harrold although he may find playing in front of a small group of fans a little disappointing - if Bristol Rovers put in a promotion challenge he may find bigger crowds at the Memorial Ground (is that the name of their current location?)
