Mark Gower for me, I think he's made the step up to this level, and most the attacks go via him. Campbell-Ryce also had an excellent game.

Flavs kept us in it in the 2nd half before we got the 3rd goal. Not only did he make good saves but he also commanded his area superbly which is something he sometimes gets stick for. I agree about Gower though he's had an excellent start to the season.

Even though we won 3-1 I'd go for Flavs. He was simply outstanding again.

Gower was the best I've seen him for a while but like JCR he saw a lot less of the ball in the second half and so had less of an impact.

For me Gower has been the most pleasant surprise of the season so far. I was worried that he'd struggle to make the step up to the Championship because - while he's always capable of magical moments - in the past he's had the tendency to give the ball away inexplicably on occasions, which you can't afford to do at this level.

But so far this season he's been outstanding - he looks fitter and more combative and his use of the ball has been excellent. Great performance today, keep it up Mark!

Barrett for the 2 goals for me or JCR who I thought should have stayed on and Freddy go off for Lawson.

My head says any centre back who doesn't concede until the 93rd minute but scores two goals deserves it but my heart says Gower because not only was he a goal threat, he was constantly probing with his passes and worked hard to make it difficult for them.

Best player this season in my book and it's surprised me. Looks genuinely class.

Barrett my arse ! Other than the two goals and altough he was better than I've seen him in a long while he still gets beaten in the air FAR too often and was out of position so many times today. Fortunately the opposition were clueless.

Gower and JCR put in fantastic performances and Darryl was immense. However, and I know you're going to find this hard to believe

, my award goes to Captain Fantastic. He was at the heart of virtually everything good today, wasn't afraid to put it about a bit when necessary and always made himself available to receive the ball and try to set another attack in motion.

I like the look of Clarke so I'll forgive him for blowing the clean sheet.

Another relatively poor performance from Freddy but I'm pretty confident that he'll do exactly the same as last season and prove his doubters (headed by me) wrong. On the plus side if teams continue to be sh!t scared of him it opens the way up for others to exploit.

A great match and team performance today. matched by a great atmosphere.

I will admit I'm not the biggest Gower fan, I never seem to be at the matches he plays well in. After a long wait though, I was at one today. He looked a quality attacking threat on the wing and didn't give the ball away within two seconds of receiving it like at QPR.

For MoM, it's a close-run thing between him, Barrett and Flavs. We saw the Barrett of 04-05 return today: generally solid at the back, charging down attacks, poweful headers and finding the ball in the box when it counted. Flavs kept us in the game, making some pretty difficult saves look comfortable, and I can't recall a save he didn't hold onto today either. I almost take it for granted that he's not letting anything past him, barring a defensive error that leaves him exposed or a wonder strike.

I voted for Gower, not just because he played well, but also because I don't know if I'll ever get the opportunity again. Mark, please prove me wrong!

Close call today - Gower was superb, Barrett, Clarke, Flavs all did very well.

Maher though was a different class again and proving he has found his level - my MOM.

I am convinced he is going to get called up this year?!!!

Gower for me - he was absolutely outstanding. Flavs comes a very close second - I think he's been our best player across all four games so far, he has hardly put a foot wrong and has made brilliant saves every game.

Who set this poll up? Did you actually watch the game? Why no Hammell? He was the pick of our back 4 by a mile. JCR was frustrating again - lots of promise but no delivery. Why no Gutteridge? He covered every blade of grass today, won so many tackles and drove forward. Bradbury did very little yet you have in in a MOM poll over Hammell + Gutts. You sure??

errmm, Hammell was good, but he kept passing to the invisable man which made us be put under pressure. Bradbury held the ball up well, where he has taken the goats role on this season, laying the ball off for the attacks, also he got back to defend.
JCR's game has drastically improved, and he released the ball alot quicker, his first half was excellent, although admittedly the second half he was quite. Guttridge had a good match, but there were players on the pitch who I felt done better. I felt also Francis has a good game, he didnt put a foot wrong, supported attacks on the wing with JCR, and is a promising prospect for the future.

The only way to have a decent MOTM poll is to have ALL the players in the list. Football is very opinionated; although Gower / Barrett may jostle for top position, others might like an option to vote for their considered MOTM.
