yes he was better than the usual NL carp we get but still thought IMO he was slightly biased towards the ‘big boys’
 
I thought he was clearly better than the national league referees, he managed the game well

With the re-organisation of referees, there are no "National League" referees. The officials for League One, League Two and the NL are lumped together in one big pool. However there are some who I think will struggle to get many, if any, Football League appointments.

Darren Drysdale has, under this arrangement, already done two National League matches this season, so we might get him again.

That was the first match this season in which we have not picked up any cards.

And it lasted 30 minutes longer.
 
I've never closely studied where refs position themselves for penalties but Mr Drysdale yesterday was quite a way into the 18 yard box. If the keeper had saved he could easily have blocked players trying to get to a rebound. Maybe he just wanted to make sure he was seen in the TV highlights.
