Macca Interview on OS

I really don't know why Tilson is giving the players a bollocking in the dressing room.

He should first and foremost be on the pitch applauding the fans who have travelled, he should then be saving his tongue lashings for BBC Essex, not the players.

He really is clueless and just doesn't know what the most important people at the club, we the fans, want.

Give them a hiding or not its still not ****ing working is it

I like the interview with tilly - "it could have ended 4-4" - Who is he trying to kid!? Without Barnard - never! Joker! Don't suggest our team could score four in a game!! Let in 4 goals yes! Score 4 - Never!

Was that before or after you lost your glasses though as if it was the latter it could have been anyone of the 11

Before Jackie, glasses were in place when we went pitchside to present trophy....at least I think they were! I still don't know where they went!

I really enjoyed Macca's interview on BBC Essex after the game on Saturday, which has been put on the OS and the Echo website, in a weird type of way.

Its very honest and it sounds to me as if it was a bit of a "clear the airs" talk and everyone had a pop and got their feelings out in the open. This is a good thing in my eyes.

Hopefully, Tilson would have got them all together at training this morning and they really worked their socks off and are desperate to right the wrongs against Millwall tomorrow.

I was at the brighton game and i can tell you it was Tilson having a go at the players.

From what i remember the convesation was something along the lines of:

" Lets play as team because we seem to have forgotten. And if there is just one thing you can do for me , then its to pass the ball, because from what i have seen out there you cant be bothered"

Not to ott more sarcastic. Macca was on the table getting his legs massaged . Bet OBL would have loved to have been a fly on the wall lol

I think what Macca said was VERY true. The players never seem to want to win the ball back when we lose it, but i do hope he was not just having a pop at everyone without taking a stiff look at himself.

All this says to me is that Jeff needs to be back in the team. So what if his passing is the best, what he does it get amongst it and I think it rubs off on other players, because they know they have got someone like that next to them who will get stuck in and back them up. We are far too lightweight in midfield.

Scrap the 4-5-1 when we play at home. Grow some balls and get stuck in (I don't mind players picking up booking for being commited, but again Macca picked up a booking for a ridiculously unnecessary foul, and 90% of Grant's are pointless). And start supporting the Stikers!!! No one from midfield wants to run beyond the front man more than once a game (and the one time Macca broke through he nearly scored! Just once a game isn't enough. Moussa never does it!) and with new strikers we need to give them as much support as possible, help them settle and to give them some confidence.

Our players need to start believing in themselves and each other a bit more!

McCormack got forward more like the McCormack of old. He got in an excellent position for his goal and was in an excellent position (albeit he fluffed the shot) for Laurent's miss.

I see little point in Moussa getting beyond the forwards when he is pretty much the only midfielder capable of picking a pass to a colleague further forward on the pitch and none of our forwards can win a flick-on.

However players getting forward comes pretty much down to confidence. When players aren't confident they don't take risks like that and they start playing conservatively. We need to grind out a few 0-0s (starting with tonight) and then build from there. Once the players have a bit of confidence, they'll start looking to make those runs a lot more.
