Low Team Morale

You can see that spirit and morale is anything but low when you go to training.

Don't believe everything you hear!

Just been speaking to a friend of mine who was chatting to a fella called Lawrence Revell at a local football match today. He was bigging himself up and mentioned his brother also played football, for Southend United. Without any prompting, he went on to say he doesnt know how long for though, as Alex is completely fed up that the club is going nowhere, hasnt got any money - and that feels they could be in big financial trouble. He said morale is really low, and there is little hope for the season. This could I suppose have been exaggerated by his brother but the underlying vibes arent too good.

While we all are aware we are in financial troubles, this doesnt really sounds good does it? I thought Revell was probably one of the positive ones

Chin up Alex son!

If you think about the short working week, relatively high wage and triple A chat chat up line that your job provides you with things might not seem so bad.

Don't really care to much about rumours , but to say that ' how would you know ' is a little nieve.

It wouldn't be to hard for me to find out some inside info as my pals are very close to at least 3 players , one being our Capt , I however would not pass it on , on this board as don't want to get people in the **** .

I posted a bit about PC when i knew he was defo leaving and no comeback would accur on him , but out of 1000 posters on here its highly likely that a good handfull personally know players...Market could well be one of them .

Only today my pal at work was talking about one of his teams players that was spouting off on Facebook when asked what the chances of his club this season , he literally slated most of his team mates and told him to put money on them going down , Highly unproffesional of the player to openly talk like that but it happens , and no wonder he was club less at the end of the season with an attitude like that .

Revell stated on a few occasions last year that he doesn't see himself as a target man. IMO he's alright as a back up player, and appears from his blogs as a good morale booster within the squad. I wouldn't expect more than 10-15 goals in a season from him though.

I'd be delighted if Revs got 10 goals this season (delighted and staggered!). He seems a really nice bloke (met him at the sponsors do last year), articulate and witty so I guess nice to have around the club. He also works hard on the pitch (if I was Tilly I'd say he "always gives 110%" and "works his socks off"!!!!).

However, IMHO he is a League 2 standard striker and only useful as a back-up or to come off the bench to do a Risbridger for the last 10 minutes.

Of the many matches that we won last season, Revell played the full 90 minutes in only 2 - Yeovil away (probably his best game for us) and Northampton at home. In the rest of the games he generally tried hard but tackled badly (best example - Brighton at home) and missed glorious chances (too many to mention). if he's fed up he should take a hike - but it'll have to be on a free.

if you're going to quote me then please have the decency to make it appear that i do have a command of the english language - i'm perfectly aware that my comment contained the correct use of capital letters.

And i fail to see why you would come out with a comment like that, do you have a personal insight into the dressing room then?
i left school years ago and never liked english teachers then!!! Take it from me on what i say and you will never find out who i may know!!! This season is going to be tough and i do not think players are to impressed with additions to squad. ------- how was my english homework ???

I love stories like this, so funny.

Personally, I believe this is a load of old bollocks. You just need to read Revell's blog every week to see how much he enjoys it here and how good the team spirit/morale/banter is.

Hold on, I'm an English teacher!

Your homework was probably pretty crap if this is the general standard of your assignments.

Sorry, mate...

I'm not sure what way to go as I think Revs is a top bloke and just cannot believe it to be true.

But dont let what he writes in his blog sway you, he is hardly going to open with...

"**** week... ****ing Macca is a **** and I'm bored of Tilly's 'tactics' blah blah.

Oh receipe of the week is cheese on toast - now **** OFF!!!"

Probably more the case that Revs had a bit of a whinge to his brother (like we all do about work) and his brother has blown it up a bit...

Don't get me wrong, I know his not going to come out and slag off the Club in his blogs, but the banter that seems to be flying around the place sounds to me like a happy camp.

I don't think this has an ounce of truth in it to be honest. I just don't think Revell is the type to come out and say things like this.

I just love the gossip.

I don't know any of the players so any sort of gossip is interesting reading together with the pros and cons of whether it's true or not!

Freakin' ek, no gossip or wild speculation on a message board makes it a dull place indeed.

So if anyone has any info as to what's been said here or there, or out on the golf course then stick it on here! ..and try not to be too rude in questioning the validity of the statement guys.
