DID YOU LEAVE IT ON THE BUS?

Blimey, just found out Ian Drury lived with Jane Horrocks for 2 years! Never knew that! That Wikipedia's a marvellous invention don't you know?

It is, you can find all kinds of interesting stuff out from it.
Just a shame half of it is complete bollox! :p

Yes, linky here (disclaimer it might be a load of Wiki misinformation!)

Positive rep for Mr. Dury (RIP) for this quote:

Dury turned down an offer from Andrew Lloyd-Webber to write the libretto for Cats (a gig which reportedly earned Richard Stilgoe millions). The reason, said Dury:

"I can't stand his music... I said no straight off. I hate Andrew Lloyd Webber. He's a ******, isn't he? Every time I hear 'Don't Cry for Me Argentina' I feel sick, it's so bad. He got Richard Stilgoe to do the lyrics in the end, who's not as good as me. He made millions out of it. He's crap, but he did ask the top man first!"

Top man!!

:D

Fire In My Heart - Super Furry Animals (have to say that, it was the first dance at my wedding)
The Boy Done Good - Billy Bragg. Great lyrics include -'and I feel like I've won the cup, every time that we make love, 45 minutes each way, at half time I hear a brass band play'

When it comes down to break up songs, I once gained a great deal of solace from I Am The Resurrection - The Stone Roses. I don't know if Brown and Squire meant it as such but I always took the lines 'Don't waste your words I don't need anything from you, I don't care where you've been or what you plan to do, I am the resurrection and I am the life, I couldn't ever bring myself to hate you as I'd like' as a great f*** you attitude.

For just dumped songs It has to be Love will tear us apart - Joy division or Nillson's Without you

Although R Kelly's - If I could turn back the hands of time , was released the week my 1st marriage broke up so that had an impact at the time
