Love Songs...

Let me first put a little disclaimer about this thread... it is NOT for all those cliched, overplayed and over used tracks which apear on 'Greatest Love Songs in the Whole World Ever Vol 6' and such like. I'm sure there is other places for that...

Was having a chat with a mate at school today about good love songs (he is getting married soon) and thought I would put it to the pub.

The choice has to contain some kind of romantic/being in love kind of theme.

Some that we came up were:

Billy Bragg - 14th February
Sawdoctors - Spend the Night Together
Ben Folds- The Luckiest
Bruce Springsteen - Secret Garden

I still want to be at a wedding when the Bride and Groom opent he dancing to the classic by Puddle of Mud called "She ****ing Hates Me."

My mate & new missus had their first dance to Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars

Oh what a wonderful wedding that must have been!

My choices.....
Nick Cave - Into My Arms (last wedding I went to, this was the first dance)
Travis - Driftwood or Flowers In The Window
Interpol - Slow Hands (purely for the lyric that's personal to me "I am married to your charms and Grace")

Slow - My Bloody Valentine.

Only works when you are 17 and have just ingested 8 cans of breaker and a burger from the Pink Toothbrush.

Just met and in love:
With a Song In My Heart - Ella Fitzgerald
My Funny Valentine - Frank Sinatra

Just split up:
Travellin' Light - Betty Carter
Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers

on a side note, that Leona Lewis song is the first decent ballard (vocally) that i have heard for many a year
