London Marathon

Ayrshire Blue

The Custard Splat
Hello all,

Fully aware this is in the wrong section. Not SUFC related in the slightest but I wanted to post it here to get the most eyes on it. I would really appreciate if it could stay in these forums for 24 hours.

In just 10 days time I will be running The London Marathon for The Epilepsy Society.

My son, Archie, was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of three. He’s just turned 6 so we are nearing half his life with the condition now.

My aim was to fundraise £2,000 as my marathon pot and I am so close to my target. We need just under £300 to get there and I’d be absolutely thrilled to hit my target before the big dance on April 27th

I will leave my fundraising link below and anything you can give no matter how big or small will be so greatly appreciated by my whole family and you’ll be supporting a fantastic cause to aid research into new medicine for epilepsy.

If you’d also like to leave any words of encouragement I’d also really appreciate it. I have only converted into a runner in the last month, this is my first marathon, I’m stepping into the unknown.

Thank you
Scott

Donated. I was diagnosed with Epilepsy last year after collapsing at home multiple times completely out the blue since Dec '23 and finally getting the diagnosis in June '24 so the cause is close to my heart.

Donated. Our granddaughter has suffered from severe epilepsy for most of her 13 years, so we feel your pain. Good luck on the day.

Enjoy every minute, crowds will get you through, and enjoy the Tower Bridge noise at about mile 13, it’s incredible
I ran last year and stayed with me even today, the only thing I forgot was Cutty Sark I don’t remember passing it 😂
I’m there cheering on my daughter so let me have your number and I’ll look out for you and shirt design
Just remember what your doing it for and enjoy x

Donated mate. Good luck. Sure you'll smash it. The little man's smile will get you through!

Running a marathon makes my overnight walk tonight seem like a walk in the park haha.

I'm there every year AB, in the fact the last time I ran it, it was a world record (Paula Radcliffe - not me!).

I take in you will be running in the charity's shirt, rather than a Blues shirt?

Good luck sir!
