Lite is basically Daily Mail in easy to read format. But then the London Paper is a Murdoch rag.

So, I get both. And I agree with Davros' arguments. Especially the texts column

I read them both as well

I prefer the Lite, better layout etc... plus the 3 days late ( breaking news I must add) snippet on Southend :-)

Its all about the London Lite! For all three reasons that Dave mentioned! I even have a selected distributor that I always get from too! I find the London Paper ones try and Karate chop you with a paper if they already see you carrying a Lite.

Text column is great. I have had 3 texts in one week go into the Lite and Bitter sports section a month or two ago about women in football if anyone say them?!

Remember seeing that , u had a few bites back from the spammers etc .

Always get the lite from the most unfortunate looking asian, wonky eyed , buck teethed , skinny , greasy haired , bespectacle wearing , smelly young man who is always on rapid fire handing them out near Fen St , and i wouldn't have it any other way .

I will never cheat on him and use someone else .

I prefer The London Paper.
I can fall asleep easier with that trying to do the difficult Sudoku!

The harder Sudoku in London lite is easier than The London Paper's therefore i stay awake.

to be fair, that doesnt narrow it down!

I use to struggle to find enough worth reading in the London ****e or the London only-good-for-Toilet-Paper to keep me occupied when I had a 5 minute tube ride back from work. When I changed jobs and faced an 11 minute commute, I stopped reading those papers entirely.

The commute back for most of you guys has to be about 45 minutes to an hour, how do you cope if that is your reading material? The Metro in the morning isn't quite as bad, and the Sport one on a Friday is readable, but otherwise I find I come out knowing less than when I started.

I dont read any of them.. especially the socialist worker..er I mean the Standard.. i usually nick a Daily mail from work as its the only crossword I can do and am sparko by Barking.. Unless of course I get offered out by some loon from Laindon as I was apparently 'looking at him' last evening.. I declined his offer to leave the train at Laindon to sort it out.. but said I would happily discuss the matter at Leigh on Sea if he wished to stay on the train.. I think he told me to mo fo off and said my Mother was something, tricky to hear as he was off the train and the doors had shut by then.. Nothing like getting stabbed on a Tuesday!

One word. Podcasts.

Don't get either.

I heard there currently aren't enough recycling facilities available to process the deluge of free papers being left on trains around London.

Seeing as the school standard journalism inside only takes most people 5 minutes to flick through, don't take them from the distributor, just grab someone elses when they've left it on a seat.

I get very irritated when people shoot me dirty looks for reading their free paper over their shoulder on the train/DLR.

It's not like they paid for it.

Telegraph Sport section on the way in until Stratford, then start the Suduko. Challenge is to finish before I get to Liverpool Street. Easy on a Monday and Tuesday, trickier on a Wednesday and Thursday, never done it on a Friday. Also the *******s have made it smaller now though, so the Diabolical on a Friday is virtually impossible to do, as you can't fit all the option in the boxes :(

Echo for me on the way home, that lasts until about Stratford, then I finish off the Soduko from the morning and then do the Kakuro.

Yeah, I was going to say that is what I now do instead of read a paper but didn't want to take it too off topic.

Well, quite. But I have a massive commute - so it's basically

Monday - Fighting Talk/Russell Brand
Tuesday - Jonathan Ross
Wednesday - Joe and Adam/Pod of Funk
Thursday - 8 out of 10 cats/or Stephen Fry/ depending who's uploaded
Friday - Mark Kermode/Coverville

That covers it. Sunday evening is basically download night.

Good call - Adam & Joe.

Mine includes: Iain Lee, Collings & Herrin, Timeghost, Answer Me This, The Bugle & John Richardson. Used to listen to Russell Brand, but I can't fit them all in!

Ah, missed out John Richardson - liked it better with Russell Howard. I'll check out the others though. Mark Kermode and Fighting Talk are absolute musts!

Likewise, I'll have a listen. And pray for some train delays so I get chance to listen to them all!

Listen to quite a few of those, will have to look up the likes of Iain Lee, Collins and Herring, Pod of Funk. Looking at iTunes I am currently subscribed to over 30 podcasts:stunned:, although most of those are rarely updated.

On the comedy front Fighting Talk is a long-standing favourite as is Adam & Joe, but Armstrong & Miller's Timeghost is quality and is probably my favourite. Only recently started subscribing to Jon Richardson and remain unconvinced but will give him longer.

My favourite music one is the Hospital Records podcast.

Also listen to quite a few politics/news ones, the Economist is pretty good plus the BBC do quite a few.

Cricinfo do some good cricket ones, whilst TMS' Today at the Test is always excellent. The only decent football one I've found is Danny Baker, who is currently doing 6-0-6 (as mentioned on another thread). His Baker and Kelly podcasts were legendary.

I prefer the London Lite but have to put up with The London Paper since I moved to Canary Wharf as the Lite isn't distributed here.

Oh dear god we must start some sort of campaign. Thats a terrible monopoly - having only the dirty removable ink paper available to you - what a disgrace.
