Ling Gone

The Mighty O's boss has left Orient just in time for Tuesday's game.

It means that the scouting mission by Tilson & Basil last Tuesday was a waste, as many of ML's favourites won't be playing.

We might actually stand a chance, as it was a dead-cert away win before this mornings announcement.

Lingy probably put up resistance to having the club moved to Harlow, nothing 's gonna stop H£arn making a mint i reckon.

Every team we play!

every team we play seems to have a new manager, and when theres a new manager or caretaker they more often than not win there first game(orient)?

You know how poor we were in the game earlier in the season? We've been that bad every week for the past year, with the exception of November.

That may be true but since that game we've lost Lee Sawyer and Hal Robson Kanu, both very creative players, plus our best defender in Dan Harding, so we're looking a shadow of that team at the moment.

Junior Stanislas has been good but his loan expired yesterday and we don't know if he's coming back yet. That leaves us potentially very short of creativity. Add to that the loss of Alan McCormack (injured) and Peter Clarke (suspended) and there's definitely reason for pessimism on our part ahead of Tuesday - especially now that Ling has gone! I'd settle for a draw at the moment.

This gives another chance to Moussa, Francis and a mystery on the left.

Seriously I would give Foran a run out, ahead of Scannell.

Would suspect Tuesday could be our finest hour as those who come in will be trying to maintain their status.

We must also be "due" a few goals.

WELL, you know how bad YOU'VE been, we've been so bad that one week the Referee kept tripping up their players for us and we still lost, and we played some premiershite Big Boys and we were such RuBbIsH they felt so sorry for us they let us have a free equaliser at the end and our Chairman :dim: thinks he is God's GIFT! but he won't let our poor manager have any money at all and the few players we have left are pretending to be injured and however hard Tilly beats them they only play for the BIG MATCHES and then they pretend to be sick again

and Tilly and Brush have to sleep in a shoebox in't middle of pitch, and lick stands clean wit' tongue every night before they go to bed and we ARE SO going to lose to you on Tuesday so NERRR!!

In the real world.

Turner & Coleman spent years in varying levels of non-league & shouldn't count.

I think that makes them better managers, especially Graham Turner. I wikipediard his *** and from 1997 to 2008 he has only bought two players. His other signings have been free transfers and loan signings, and he has achieved two promotions.

Looks like my betting coupon on tuesday will read home win.

Thought we'd get pumped there before the sacking, but its a dead cert now.

Poor old Martin Ling, as much as I hate Orient I have always had a soft spot for Martin Ling as a player. Was one of the more exciting players we have had at Southend, hope he gets another job soon.

After seeing us trying to attack at Stockport, I'm just hoping we can manage to defend against Orient. I'm actually struggling to get myself sufficiently motivated to actually go and watch in spite of it being only an hour away.

I haven't heard anything to suggest it would be but is it all-ticket? That could be my convenient excuse...

Well now Lings gone, and half of the board here have decided because we are having an average season and lost to Chelsea 4-1. Tilson and Brush should be booted out. So I guess he will be managing Orient by Tuesday night.

Not all-ticket so you can't use that one! Not all of the Os fans are convinced that New Manager Syndrome is going to work this time.

Can you double, triple and quadruple check??

I think a lot of the time supporters at our level don't really know the strength of the opposition and tend to predict based on their own team only.

The sad fact of the matter is that in our last 5 away games, we've only scored once and only got one point. Orient's 4 points and 4 goals over the same time span at hom look comparitively rosy!

I think this will be a fairly cagey one assuming they still have centre backs who are useful in the air. Probably a 1-0 one way or the other and probably determined by poor play at set pieces.

We might struggle without our joint top scorer to score.

Yep - nowt wrong with our central defence at all. The only problems are the keeper, full backs, midfielders and forwards.
